What a post jampacked with bad news and good news! I'm rather disappointed that there will be no second single (though I am still pushing "Who's to Say" on local radio stations as hard as I can), but I am hopeful to hear that she's serious about her music and she's not giving up because she knows who her fans are.
And by the way, owning the rights to the songs and the rights to the records are two different things. Unless she makes the mistake of selling her songs to the wrong person (and anyone but yourself is always the wrong person), she would still have the right to use her songs (i.e., to perform them and promote them and even re-record them), but the records made by A&M are still their property (just as the 'Rinse' recordings are the property of the label that made them, though they never released them).
