There's a soap/soup opera in Brazil that talks about UNITED STATES, how bad the people are, and it shows fucking BRAZILIANS and MEXICANS trying to come into UNITED STATES ilegally.... but the thing is

It's being spoken that when a person becomes 18, this one has to leave the house and try to live alone, work
If it is...

THANKS GOD for me not to be an American
I will live with my parents till I find a good job, a good money and a good woman..

The sister of my mother ( I don't know if it s Uncle, Aunt or something ) is 38 and still lives with my grandmother

And it's also true that we can't face someone in UNITED STATES because the faced one calls the police?

Unfortunately for you, Afterglow has broken no rules. It's just difficult to understand what he is saying. This may be about the same soap he started a thread about earlier, but this time, he's talking about some other aspect of it, so it's not really a dupe.

Some parents do kick their kids out of the house when they turn 18. Others don't. I'm 18 and I'm still living with my parents. If I weren't going away to college, I'd probably live with them a few more years until I could get out on my own.

It is aunt. And sorry. That is pathetic.

Some people will call the cops or Immigration on people that are in the country illegally. If you are a legal resident, what are the cops gonna do?

It all depends. I'm 19 and i still live at home. I live away at college during the school year (which is over 2/3's of the year) but my main home is still with my parents. I'm sure as long as I need to I can live here. All of my friends' parents are the same way. I know many people over 18 who still live at home! A lot of times it's because they're still in college or just starting a job, so their parents give them time to live at home and get up on their feet. My uncle who is in his 40's lives with my grandparents... but that's sad.
Sometimes kids do get kicked out when their 18, but atleast that i've seen, that's rare! My brother got kicked out when he was 19 but that was for other reasons. I also know kids who move out when they're 16 or 17 for various reasons, but in all cases I know it's by their choice.

So no... It's not common in America for parents to kick their kids out as soon as they turn 18! That's just plain silly!

Hm, I think this soap opera is saying shits....

And about TO FACE.. I mean

If I say to a woman that I don't even know
" You are so beautiful "

This girl can call the police

Because, it was showing it in the soap opera, the man said to a woman
" Hm, can I meet you better? Or may we go out? "

The girl called the police...

And, I saw that AMERICANS earn money everyday, it's not by month...
Because there's a woman that is working as maid, and she earns everyday

Yeah, my english teacher is from UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and he lives here because he fell in love with a Brazilian...

So, he's so surprised how we brazilian are, we rarely get hate for someone,

He says that we're so lovely, not cold blooded as the americans are....
And etc.. he loves Brazil and don't ever want to be back to his country

He's a such dumb, if I was him, I would be in London or Australia, maybe in GERMANY...

Most American's don't get paid daily. What you're seeing is day labor. Most day labor is under the table. It's common to hire illegals or minors and just pay them cash instead of trying to deal with the legal mess of income taxes and all.

Its funny because i have no issues with cold blooded americans.  People in general are pretty nice to me.   The only time i feel like im being treated unfairly is when i find crap from foreigners acting like the usa is the pits of hell.  Ignorance must be grand

Do you mean that is pathetic that she still lives with her grandmother? Because that is purely an interpretation from an individualist country that places emphasis on Locke's 'life, liberty and property' - in a collectivist culture that may be perfectly acceptable, the woman may care for her grandmother and enhance the values of family.

I'm not at all saying Afterglow isn't full of crap, but the interpretation that living with your parents/extended family is weak and pathetic only works in a meritocratic individualist society.

I think the assumed interpretation is that this person lives with his/her grandparents because he/she can't live alone for some reason.

My friend Demitrius lives with his mom because HE supports HER and he's 31.

There is nothing sad about that.
