Um, I am not a Windows hater, it's just I have a dual boot system and it would be nice if when I boot into Linux if I could watch a dvd without having to reboot, no big deal...
The big reason there isn't a dvd player widely available is because the encoding/decoding scheme for dvd's has been a patent issue...even if it is a mathematical formula....Heck, if I could purchase software for it to run on Linux, I would..but I have not seen any...I don't want to copy dvds..just watch those I have have legally purchased...
