[discussion]

Lizzie and I ended up making it to the show, and I'm glad we did.

Vanessa, Tina Shafer, Jeff Cohen, Jenny Bruce, Jesse Harris, Neil Herman, and Marissa Pontecorvo switched off and sang 3 songs each.

V sang Put Your Hands on Me, The One and ATM.  At one point she got up and went to the bathroom, feeling a little ill it seemed.  She came back and played fine.  She messed up the beginning of The One, and those of us who knew, helped her out with it.   :)

Ivy and Krys brought balloons and cupcakes (which were very tastey).  V took a dozen of the cupcakes with her when she left.

No pictures afterwards and no autographs though.  She was meeting her parents for dinner.  I dont think anyone was too upset though, seeming how it's her b-day.

The other performers were great.  Neil Herman sang three very funny songs.  I missed getting his CD before we left though.

Overall a great show for a great cause.

It was nice to see everyone again and meet some new peeps as well.   :)

I took a few photos before the battery died on my camera.  I'll see how they came out and post them tomorrow if I get the chance.

Oh yeah...but I don't think she opened any cards or gifts.  She did leave with them all though (except for some flowers that were apparently left behind).

I really enjoyed the show, especially the other performers like Neil and Jenny.  Marissa impressed the hell out of me.  There's a rough diamond there, and that "All Around Me" track could be a hit tomorrow(mark those words).  Also, Peter Zizzo looked nothing like I imagined, dressed down like he had just played one-on-one basketball.  He certainly had none of the bullsh** music biz vibe.  It was interesting how the show was paced, how the material got stronger every time the circle went back to the beginning.

And finally I got to give Vanessa the Nessaholics CD.  Yes, it was over 3 years since I had done it.  Yes, in that time VC had actually written, recorded, and released another whole album.  No, I am never doing it again.  But I got to put it in her hand, which was awesome.  Very psyched, 'cause my personal best song is on there.  Maybe she'll use it to prop up an uneven table leg up in her loft.  Here's hoping!

I had no idea Vanessa wasn't feeling well.  She used the men's room after me, which is.....kind of disturbing.  I thought she sang very well.  If she felt under the weather, she hid it very well, and was very courteous and professionsl to the imposing crowd of people blocking her way out.

It was great to see everyone there!  I passed on the cupcakes..sorry guys!

I was sitting pretty much right in front of the piano and took many pics of all the different performers.  I will try to get them posted in the next day or two.  There should be some really good ones in there, but quite a few black & white because of how I had to shoot them (mostly due to the red spotlights).  I also have a video of everyone singing happy birthday that I will post.

Kudos to the brave souls who started camping out around noon.  We wandered by many times but didn't really hang out until much later :)
