Capturing streaming videos???

I think this should be in a different thread but not sure really? It isn't about Vanessa so i guess it is. I will try move it to the right thread when i am done.

I pretty sure there is a programme that can capture screening videos and make a file from them in either wmv or ram format? I was wondering if anybody know's the name of this application and if it works on both PC or MAC or both? There is a bunch of old video files that i would love to have but they screening videos and not downloadable! I guess i asking if anybody already has this programme and would fancy doing another nessaholic a favour? I could supply the link/address of the site with the videos and then maybe email them to me once you have captured them? There is about 15 files need capturing and they not big files at all. Anyway i know this must sound like i taking the piss but i am not, i am just a very keen fan of music. All my favourite bands are from USA, Third eye blind, Vanessa Carlton, Goo Goo Dolls, Lifehouse, Matchbox Twenty, Counting Crows, Dave Matthews Band and Better Than Ezra and i never get to see them on TV here in the UK. That is why i love to make my own VCD/DVD from files i download etc. Thanks for your time and thanks for all the halp i get on this forum. I would be happy to help anybody who is after vanessa vids etc in return????

Think i am clutching at straws with this one but there might be a few Nessaholics that can help? My fingers are crossed. :)

They're actually called STREAMING videos.
Try download.com, they have a few programs you can try out.

had a little look about but as i thought nearly all appear to be PC applications! I remember having this problem before and i am sure someone from this forum captured a couple of videos for me before???? Cant think who tho for the life of me...?

I wouldn't mind downloading an application that would allow me to do it myself but i cant on my Work Mac, the boss would not be impressed.

hi!  i use net transport to capture streaming audio and video files.  i don't know if it will work on mac or will help you out at all though.  i'm not very computer literate -- sorry.  here's the link if you want to try it:
