You're one lucky girl.

don't forget about me!! :?  :(

there isn't much for me to say, cuz i helped write the review dealie, but i wanted to stick my two cents in anyway, cuz duh.. i was there too. haha.

1. i still love PYHOM, though they should change the lyrics back to "on you and me," and i love the little vocal change in the bridge.
2. i wasn't even that into best behaviour before, but i'm definitely in love with it now. (ask nat..i was singing it for like, 2 days straight)
3. All is Well sounds AMAZING. i LOVE it.
4. i'm definitely not into the linda perry production. i don't remember anything about Wave Goodbye cuz i wasn't exactly in the right state of mind, but i wasn't really feeling Spring Street, though like nat said, it is real catchy. i get it stuck in my head sometimes: just the na na na part. lol.

5. i'll second nat's foot up the ass thing, because vanessa was SO nice. seriously. she was such a sweetheart. i was a bit star-struck. lol. even though i played it off well. basically this entire WEEK, i had trouble connecting the Vanessa i hung out with, to the girl who's music i've been listening to for years. but i think i've finally got the hang of it. :P

seriously. she was just so nice. :)

ummm that's about it i guess. thanks for making the vids mp3s. definitely appreciate it. :D

stephan was hilarious. absolutely hysterical. :D

"On Sunday afternoon, I called my buddy who works in Third Eye Blind's management office, and he invited us down to SF Soundworks studio in Soma to spend the afternoon/evening with Vanessa and Stephan while she did some tracking. "

Im still a tad confused. This all sounds pretty awesome but how did u get to meet this guy from third eye blind who invites you to the SF studio?
Can u explain these "connections"

it's just cuz we're awesome.

no really.. i don't think we want to explain anything else, for the same reason why we won't give his name. we don't want to cause problems for him.

I wish she would have kept "shine down on you and me" too but oh well, it will still sound amazing I'm sure. I can't wait to hear the full arrangement of PYHOM. I am just so psyched for this CD. The strings in The One sounds so beautiful and BB sounds great.

Does This Time sound weird like Spring Street and Wave Goodbye? I know Linda Perry co-wrote it, but did she produce it too?

What did you think of the recording process?  Man, I would love to have heard her track a vocal.

I thought it was pretty awesome. I'm a musician but I've never recorded anything, so I wasn't really sure EXACTLY what goes on, so seeing the process that's behind making a record was really cool. And it was sweet to see her do the vocals. Kind of funny, though. A couple of times they only saved ONE word! Haha. Plus SJ is a total perfectionist so they went through everything infinity times before he was satisfied.

So you can see how just getting a keeper vocal can be an arduous process.  And also, how there's a temptation to do everything 6,000 times in a search for a perfect part. You can see there's a risk of losing the feel after many takes. Strange hearing a "punch-in" on one word, or even cutting and pasting in Pro Tools.  It takes a good producer to not overdo things, and yet get a great performance from the artist.  SJ is a great producer......but I ain't telling you something you don't already know.

Thanks for the videos!

Dan/NS

And she loves pita chips. And that's an understatement.

Any fave flavor? Between Stacy's, Pita Snax, Regenie's, Saint Pita & Waleed's
there are so many 8O Any idea how Nessa's appetite for these was initiated?

Martin.
