Beale Street Music Fest - Memphis
« on: April 10, 2006, 08:50:09 am »
Just wondering if anybody else is going.  I'm planning to be there at least two of the three days.  We're taking the train into town and riding on the trollies the whole time.  I booked rooms at two different hotels because I didn't know which one we wanted at first, so now I have a spare room for Friday and Saturday night.  It's not paid for yet, but it's a reservation for those two nights pretty close to the park when there's probably not a room to be had in the entire city by now.  I'd much rather let a friend or fellow Nessaholic have it than just cancelling it and letting some stranger get it.

The hotel room, including taxes, for two adults, is $252.77.
Tickets to the festival are $49.50 for all three days if ordered by April 30, or $20 each day.

Here's the hotel: Hampton Inn Memphis Downtown

Here's the link to the festival: Memphis In May Beale Street Music Festival

And here's the lineup:

Yep, everyone except my cousin, who lives down there.  He told me that it was the most disappointing lineup he's ever seen.  Personally, though, I plan to go see a lot of the classics, like Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, James Brown, Chicago, Booker T and the MGs, Bo Diddley, and a few others.  I would go see B. B. King as well, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it Friday.  We'll see, though.
