Fourty-one isn't that old, but OK.

I was always for Mandisa, but "Over the Rainbow" was the hands-down best performance on AI that season, and the second best throughout the whole history of the show. Fantasia's "Summertime" was the only better one...

Well 41 is pretty old for a 22 year old because he could theoretically be her father. Look at it this way, when she started puberty at say 12 he was 31 already. I'm pretty damn old and I'm not around 40 yet. I'm not complaining that HOT young chicks dig older guys believe me but it still seems weird to me.

Here are a preview of 3 songs from her album thanks to someone from an msn American Idol board I go to.. they are ripped from promosquad.

You guys are gonna be surprised at the style she's going.. especially on Open Toes. That song shocked me at first, but its growing on me. The only one I hate is Each Other.

It's like day and night.  I don't really know what to think.  All I can say with any certainty is that she hasn't sold her album to me just yet.

Open Toes is just 8O!
I don't like it too much for now. I'm not sure what Kat is trying to do by going down this road. :?

Each Other seems to be more interesting, it's a ballad, it suits her better. Sounds a bit Mariah-ish but that's a good thing.

Over It is okay, it's like your typical radio-friendly R&B-ish song.

I'm not sure about the album either, I think I'm gonna need a good listen before thinking of getting it.
C'mon Kat, don't disappoint me! :P

Yeah a lot of people aren't sure either. A lot of the fans at the private msn ai board i go to were like wtf. And as much as I love her i'm gonna have to hear some more songs too before i decide if im gonna get it or not. I bet Taylor's cd is gonna be awesome.

I like I Lost You. It's got a R&B Alicia Keys vibe to it. I'm an R&B lover though. Haven't listened to Dangerous yet. Thanks for the post.

I'm not crazy about Dangerous but it's okay. I'm getting her album regardless. I already pre-ordered it with the new Norah album.

Her song Love Story is up on her MySpace page. I think it's decent. Her songs seem to be more in the hip hop/R&B realm than I expected. I like it but she definitely should do more ballads though.

That's what I'm thinking.  Other than that, I still don't know what to think.  I just know that I voted for her a few hundred times and I am starting to need to be reminded why. :?
