Unknown Songs?
« on: September 13, 2006, 02:31:10 pm »
So what never heard before songs are there's of Vanessa's
like:
Blue ditty
Quarrylude
Wave goodbye
Spring street
Dude Quail Squaw ???
etc.
And now you look at me
And see what I've known for so long
It's sad that you can be
So lovely, yet so wrong

Blue Ditty has never been heard before. Vanessa Carlton has only mentioned it.

Quarrylude - WTF? This does not exist.

Wave Goodbye and Spring Street is on VC's upcoming album.

Dude Quail Squaw ??? - This doesn't even exist.

dA - LJ

the song you mean is Quail Dude Squaw and I think it was supposed to be on Harmonium but didn't make it?  I dunno.  Apparently it's Vanessa's hardest song and it didn't have a title so Stephan made that one up.

On the Harmonium Enhanced CD, they play her music in the background, and there is a song that sounds unfamiliar....anyone else pick up on that?  I don't know if it's this particular song, but who knows, it could be...

I've wondered the samething myself.  A sound clip of that unfamiliar (yet awesome-sounding) song is circulating on the internet under the name (and I'm not making this up, so don't yell at me) fuckthefuckingfuckers.mp3
Could this be that "Quail Dude Squaw" song?  And as for "Quarrylude", I believe you mean "Quaalude", which I think could be a different version of the same piece.  Obvious influence in naming comes from the original title of "A Thousand Miles", which is "Interlude".

I would have to find it again and upload it again.  If someone else doesn't beat me to it, I'd be glad to. :)

here you go, but it's just a sound clip from "pleased to meet you" that someone here on the forum ripped and the title was just a joke.

I also heard in an old forum that she had another song called Fontvella, or something like that?  Does anyone have any idea about that?  BTW, in what interview did she mention "Quail Dude Squaw"?  I've seen it mentioned a few times in other forums, but I never really knew much about it....

Fontvella... Apparently that's the name of a company that sells bottled spring water, and they used a version of ATM in their TV ad.

Quail Dude Squaw... I can't remember which interview I read about this in but it's just a working title for something... can't remember whether this turned into a song we know...

That's the one.  We're all wondering if that song is either the "Quail Dude Squaw" or "Fontvella" or something like that.  It's really awesome-sounding and I'd love to hear the rest.

that wasnt the only time that tune appeared in the DVD, but i guess it was the easiest to record from considering there wasnt talking over it or something else.
