So for the new album SJ is producing some songs and Linda Perry is too.... Sam and Natalie also mentioned a third person producing (according to their friend)

I was wondering... is Irv going to produce some of her songs? In the Mtv interview at the Canal Room Irv said when he first met V he was hesitant to sign her so he offered her some production help.

So I'm going to put that list of songs up again and try to match them with a producer as we acquire more info.

What ever happened to those Matrix songs?  Wasn't one titled... Under My Skin? Or something? Hrm. I forget.

I really doubt they'll be released. I wish Vanessa would have  b-side album or something for those songs like quail dude squaw, and the matrix ones.

That would be awesome Cavin....she could even redo some of the really good demo songs, morning sting, et. But it will probably never happen.lol :(

They were called Summer Child, It's Now, and Underneath.... other than that I have no info about them.... hopefully we'll get to hear them some day :)

Irv said house-that is my record... so I am not sure, but he did not say whom was producing all he said was that he was a co-pilot... I know he will be producing another untitled song that i really dont know much about....

this multiple producers thing is making me nervous. how can you have any flow on an album if all of the songs are done by different people... i wish stephan was doing this whole album.

I know what you are saying but an album can still flow with multiple producers... we really don't know much at all (well you kinda do since you were there for part of it lol) about the sounds of the album after production so we'll just have to wait and see.... it will be possible to make the album flow but they'll just have to make an effort to do so.... I think that it'll work out....Maybe they'll make it a double disc with SJ doing some songs on the first and LP and Irv on the second....who knows


Or like you've said before... they could always drop the Perry songs   :o

I wouldn't worry about the flow of the album.  Remember that SJ did not approach every song the same on the last one, either(think CLV and Papa).  

Also, when a track is being done, so many things can impact the recording anyway---the producer, artist, engineer, hired musicians, etc.  Hell, I once had a PA offer a suggestion on a violin arrangement, and I used it.

Production approaches will vary.  A lot of the sonic quality of an album is gained (or lost) in the mastering.

LP cowrote The One??? Are you sure??? I could have sworn that V wrote it alone or with SJ.... when Natalie and Sam went to the recording studio V was working on Then One with SJ so I think he is producing it.... of course maybe I just misread something  :drunk:
