Completely Off-Topic / Mt St Helens
« on: September 26, 2004, 09:29:34 pm »
Most the people on this board werent even born when it blew in May 1980 and covered the entire globe in ash. I was born a month later. lol

But I might have a front row seat at the encore.
---------------
Seismologists believe there's an increased likelihood of a hazardous event at Mount St. Helens due to recent changes in the mountain's seismic activity, and a notice of volcanic unrest was issued Sunday afternoon by the U.S. Geological Survey.

Initially, hundreds of tiny earthquakes that began Thursday morning had slowly declined through Saturday.

By Sunday, however, the swarm had changed to include more than 10 larger earthquakes of magnitude 2 to 2.8, the most in a 24-hour period since the last dome-building eruption in October 1986.

Other Musicians / Mercy Me

I really like these guys a lot!
They actually got mainstream attention with the song "I Can Only Imagine" earlier this year. Thats how I first heard about them, and all I had heard of them for quite a while, but I finally got the album and the entire thing is excellent.

Style is quite similar to Trading Yesterday, if that means anything to any of you. lol But that similarity I'm sure helped me to take interest in em.

btw TSE is awesome, cant thank you enough.

"They save us, but who saves them?" <== rather corny

Anyone else gonna give it a try?
FX got a blockbuster with The Shield and cops.
Now they're trying with firefighters and Dennis Leary.

Entertainment - Movies / TV / Books / Choose life... (Trainspotting)
« on: June 20, 2004, 05:46:34 pm »
Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television. Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suit on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?

"Do you shee the beasht? Do you have him in your shights" (bad Sean Connery impression. lmao)

Great movie!

Entertainment - Movies / TV / Books / MacGyver
« on: June 02, 2004, 09:58:03 am »

One of the best shows ever!
When I was a kid I was all about A-Team & MacGyver.
Now that I'm older, I watch A-Team and shudder at how corny it is, but MacGyver still holds the quality.
SpikeTV shows the reruns now, I love it!
It also has some of the best theme music ever!

Other Musicians / Maria Mena

I love her debut English single "You're The Only One". Kinda has an Alanis-when-not-pissed-off feel to it.

You can check her craptastic official site.

Hopefully a better one will come along soon.

Polls / Will Vanessa follow the video trend?
« on: May 13, 2004, 06:02:41 pm »
This started out as a joke...
First Sarah McLachlan has a tub scene in her Fallen video. A couple months later Dido had one in her Life For Rent video. All nice but now in the last month 2 more videos have dropped.
Britney's Everytime video and Evanescence's Everybody's Fool.
So now with "White Houses" arriving in less than a month, will she follow the trend?!

Sarah McLachlan - Fallen

Dido - Life For Rent

Britney Spears - Everytime

Evanescence - Everybody's Fool
