General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Private Radio...on the radio!

I was eating lunch in CPK and I heard Ordinary Day in the Backround Radio.

In Oahu, I hear Big Yellow Taxi on the Radio like a million times.

Sometimes I hear A Thousand Miles on the radio also!

That's good that Vanessa's getting some more airplay  :D Only reason why I brought up Private Radio is because she never released a second single off Harmonium, so it was surprising to hear one of those songs in a public place.

This afternoon I was eating lunch at Quiznos with a friend when I heard Private Radio come on. Not sure if it was the radio or if they have their own song line-up, but just the fact that I heard it in a public place was really exciting! I know V said herself that there's no second single coming off Harmonium, but at least her songs are still out there.

As soon as I heard it my first thought was "Oh! I have to go post this on NESSAholics now!"

Not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread already, but according to what I read on the O-Board, the songbook for Harmonium is being released on June 22, 2005. I checked amazon.com, and it's listed there.  :D

For a nude picture, I thought the one of Vanessa was rather tasteful.

I've added MS AntiSpyware, Spybot S&D and SpySweeper and managed to
uncover another variant of this CWS 'hijacker' I'm wondering if its easier
to just change my browser from IE6? Its inherently prone to infiltration

Do it. Mozilla Firefox is SO much better. I made the switch (which was relatively easy. Firefox gives you the option to import all your bookmarks from IE when you install it so you won't lose anything) and have since permenantly deleted the stupid blue E off my desktop. It also has a lot of nice features. Great pop-up control built right in, tabbed browsing, you can have windows media player accessible right at the bottom of the window (with a special extension.) It's just all-around worth it. Not to mention the better security.

you have rinse?? where did you get it! i want it!!!!
pleeeeease :)

You can't buy it anywhere. Hence the: it hasn't been "commercially released." If you got a collection of all the songs on it, though, you could burn it and that's how you could have your own copy.

I'm so glad that Vanessa finally addressed these issues herself - it shows that she can take charge and still be totally open and honest with her fans.

I respect that a lot. It's disapppointing that she's not releasing a second single. I was a bit surprised by that, because I was sure that "Who's To Say" was close to making it's way out as the next one, but it's obviously just not in the cards this time. I feel so bad for Vanessa because of her poor promotion from A&M. It just goes to show you how narrow-minded people in the music industry are these days. Vanessa is a rarity - she actually sings without a backup chorus and writes her own music. She plays the piano on her own and doesn't need to objectify her body in order to sell records. I respect Vanessa so much, for those reasons in particular, and it just proves that a record label like A&M does not deserve to have an artist as talented as Vanessa on their label.

Even in spite of all of this, Vanessa is still pushing to put out a third album. Good for her! I can't wait until it's released and I'm sure it will be just as good as Harmonium. This is proof that Vanessa is truly dedicated to her music and her amazing fanbase.

And that's all I wanted to say about that  :)

I think the easiest song to learn is Last fall.

Last fall? Is that another one of Vanessa's "demo" tracks?
