Watership Down is a beautiful story.  I read it for the first time a few months ago, when I learned V had been inspired by it.  I'll read it again when I finish the book I have going now.  And I'll admit it, the ending made me cry.

I'm coming to this one, too, but before I pack my camera...does anyone know if the venue allows cameras/video recorders?

Other Musicians / Noctura
« on: February 16, 2011, 08:07:34 pm »
If you like Evanescence, you might be interested.  Mandy sounds a bit like Amy Lee.

Noctura, founded by Mandy Suiter and Jeremy Roche, is an up and coming female-fronted rock band making waves across the Midwest. Mandy and Jeremy have utilized social networking sites and word of mouth to assemble a strong following that rivals touring bands, and even crowdfunded their upcoming debut album via fan donations. The pair recently brought on guitarist Kris Haughey and are in the process of nailing down a permanent lineup for live shows.

Working with esteemed producer Dan Certa (Seether, We Are The Fallen, The Fray), Noctura plans to release their full-length debut, Surrender the Sun, in early 2011. The first track released from the album, "Don't Save Me," has already gained airplay in various radio markets, including heavy rotation on Indianapolis Clear Channel station WRZX-X103.

If you scroll down to the bottom, it says it's a "Best of Vanessa Carlton" E-album.

I wonder how much of her work A&M has rights to, and I wonder if Vanessa has any say in this release.

Hey Kulp, my copy of Meet on the Ledge is also 3:38, but on mine, the performance ends at about 2:58.  The final 30 seconds of the track I have is applause and tuning of guitars.  I'll upload it for you if you think it's different from what you have.

that's pretty odd...

you sure it's the same one with Vanessa in it?

sure, upload it, please =)
OK, this is what I have: http://www.mediafire.com/?7gns3a2zstop6ip

Maybe this is a stupid question, but I'm kinda confused...is Vanessa going to be playing a ukulele?

Kinda miss the old o-boards though. I remember Love2cusmile and her VCMB soap opera thread. She had such a wild imagination!!!

What a coincidence.  I was thinking about Love2 just the other day and wondering what ever happened to her...

Just curious...are there any pictures around of V and Michelle together?  I've never seen any, and I think it would be neat to see.

Tall Tales for Spring...it would be really cool if, therefore, the album came out next spring...but maybe that's rushing things.

I love the way she's posting so frequently now.  It's quite a turnaround from the long "pregnant pauses."

honestly, I think your recordings are better sounding than the other ones...
theres less annoying little children in them.. and it sounds... less... far away...  :P

seriously, i think everyone should download them and give them a try over the other recordings.

Yes, I have fond memories of the annoying little children who repeatedly screamed "SAN FRANCISCO!!" in my ear and poked me in the back 10,000 times...but so it goes.

High quality bootleg (higher quality than mine and minus annoying little children) can be found in this thread:  http://forum.nessaholics.com/index.php?topic=12374.0  A HUGE thank you to Nessaholista for finding and posting the link.  :)

I didn't get very good pictures, but you can see them here:

And audio is here:

You can download them from the site or double-click on a file name to play.

I liked the way people kept yelling out to Vanessa "I went to school with you" or "I used to be your next-door neighbor."  They seemed to really welcome her back.  :)
