Live Shows / 10.27.12 Trask Coliseum -Wilmington, NC (review)
« on: October 27, 2012, 08:09:20 pm »
The show was awesome! And it was wonderful to see Sara again!

I think the setlist was:

Tall Tales For Spring
Who's To Say
White Houses
Marching Line

Carousel and IDWBAB were performed with this vocal group from the local high school. They sounded really good. They even did the claps in Carousel even though they missed it the first time. I feel like I'm forgetting a song though?

She didn't talk very much in between songs. It did sound really beautiful with the orchestra. I think my favorite of the night was either TTFS or Who's To Say.

Here are a few pics from my cell phone which takes crappy pictures. She was bringing the sexy back though! She was in a gorgeous one shouldered dress with a high slit.

Found this on work.failblog. It's very silly and I thought it might brighten the mood here after the Bride news.

Live Shows / V plays at an annual holiday party (pics)
« on: December 27, 2011, 08:35:58 am »
Sarab had mentioned about a lady posting on VC's fb about an office party so I went to go look and saw the woman now posted a link to her blog with pics from the show. We had thought maybe it was the TouchTunes event but now we know it wasn't since the clothes are different. Wow, I wish my company could get V to play at a party!

Completely Off-Topic / Vosges at Fresh Market!
« on: December 09, 2011, 07:37:07 am »
Look what I found yesterday at Fresh Market! They had a few other flavors too. I was so excited because I've never seen this anywhere before!

It was $5 for this bar, but I just had to get it. I haven't tried it yet though. Probably will this weekend with a glass of wine!

This is what the back looks like:

Katrina is so pretty! She looks like a hybrid between Kate Winslet and Rachel Weisz.

Entertainment - Movies / TV / Books / Vanessa's Movie Picks
« on: December 01, 2011, 01:22:51 pm »
I didn't see a topic like this in here before, so sorry if there's already one like it. Kind of similar to the V's Book Club thread, but instead of books it's movies that she has recommended!

Ones I can think of off the top of my head/found by looking through older tweets:

Donnie Darko
I'm Still Here
City of God
The Dark Crystal
Alice in Wonderland
The Rescuers
The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
The Secret of NIMH
Legends of the Fall
The Last Unicorn
Watership Down
Flowers in the Attic
I Am Legend

Live Shows / 9/27/2011 9:30 Club - Washington, DC (review)
« on: September 27, 2011, 08:03:14 pm »
Show was awesome and I got to meet V afterwards!! I think the correct order of songs was:

Fairweather Friend
Fools Like Me (Rhodes)
ATM (Rhodes)
Hear The Bells

Hear the Bells sounded really amazing live! I went to the merch booth after her set and bought a piano book and V came out shortly after. She was very nice and asked my name and shook my hand! She signed my book and asked me if I played. Then her pen bled on my book and we laughed. I told her that the set sounded really amazing and I loved Hear The Bells and we took a picture together. I'll upload the picture in a bit. She looks beautiful but I kinda look like Smeagol. I love it so much though!! It was so surreal actually talking to her! Best night ever!

Three books we've heard her talk about before but I think this is new. Im surprised Brief History of Time isn't on here!

We already know about this via her twitter but I thought this deserved it's own thread. Here's to hoping she does Bride with a children's choir!

By face-lift, I mean how V has been taking older songs of hers lately at shows and recreating them in a sense to where they are much softer and the essence of the song is intact (i.e. Fools Like Me). I would love to hear her do this to Pretty Baby on the Rhodes.

Her MGMT just posted on her facebook that she will be interviewed on Chelsea Lately tomorrow night!
