General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Re: ATM sampled in wine advert
« on: May 13, 2012, 03:14:50 pm »
Hopefully this will translate to sales so Nessa can record more albums. It helps that she's the sole songwriter on most of her songs, which gives her full royalties for songwriting.

Happy Birthday, BNN.  :D Great pics, eclv.

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Re: Vanessa Carlton - Patience

I'm excited. Hopefully, we'll have a first single by the end of this year, or the beginning of next year.  :-\

Nessa's recording a new album?  :o This is confirmed, right? I wonder which one of her albums it will similar to? I'd prefer the lyrical delivery of ROTR combined with the catchiness of H&T, minus the Irv Gotti over-production.

I want at least one ghost somewhere in the video. Maybe they ghost-ified Victor?  :)

Something tells me Nessa is actually starting to like Twitter.  :P We should hold an intervention.

Okay, now I'm convinced that V is including as many books as she can in her tweets to add to our book list. Haha  :D

RIGHT?!  I can't figure out what it's called though.  the letters look like WLES ...which doesn't spell anything. lol.  So she must be in Pennsylvania then? Did anyone go?!

LOL. It actually spells "FOWLES," as in John Fowles, author of The French Lieutenant's Woman.

Leaving for Nashville in the slow hour after rush hour. I believe this trip will remove the bullet from my chest.

I hope everything is okay with her...

"do you know a love like a bullet in the chest?"
interesting tweet. would like to know more about what she means by that.

Maybe she had a run-in with an ex? (not pointing directly at Stephen)

Maybe they're doing a double music video type of thing, and she's shooting scenes for ML also? Eh, a guy can dream, anyway.

Polls / Re: Favorite Pop-Piano Female Artist

Lol. I think the results are going to be a little biased.  ;D Regardless of bias, I'd still pick Nessa, although Regina would come in a close second. Some of her lyrics are a little (a lot) weird, though. Reading Time with Pickle?  :-\

We also have to remember that Nessa isn't on a huge label, and even if she was, labels don't do monster promotions for artists like Nessa. If you're Beyonce, Britney, GaGa, then yes, but we're lucky we get a video for Bride at all. If radio stations don't pick up Bride, what good's a music video?

Oh geez, the second season is coming out already? I haven't even seen all of the first season and only read the first book so far.  :-[

27
It's Heroes for me, too.  :) I think the production was a little much, but Heroes is the best so far. Lyrically speaking, Harmonium is the best, though.

28
Awesome picture! I wonder how they do that, anyway.

Great list. I'm not so much here for Ender's Game, though, considering the author's numerous homophobic remarks.  :-\

Thanks for the list, Arwen. I've only seen Donnie Darko and Dark Crystal. Dark Crystal is okay, and Donnie Darko is really weird and I don't understand it but I like it anyway.  :D
