I couldn't find anywhere this might have been discussed before...

But yesterday I found a link to this video clip on PianoPlayer12's website. Have you guys seen it before? Isn't it sooo good? I love her solo version of "The One" but now it's got strings and everything! It makes me really excited for how good her new songs will be once they are fully recorded and released on her next album.

My hard drive on my old computer died a while ago, and I lost all my music. I've been refreshing my library of V songs on my own mostly, but I can't find this one. Could you please post it again? It's expired.

Thanks a lot! It's really great to have a version without people being rude in the bg. That Sci-Fi thing is pretty weird place for this to have appeared though. It's so strange that someone would get this without having it been on here first. We're like, the premiere Vanessa fan group.

To be honest though, I don't think her vocal performance was as good here as it was at the Canal performance. Less controlled and subtle, in my opinion. It's still not bad though.

I find this topic kind of interesting because when I first joined these boards, I was unsure of my sexuality, but now I'm pretty sure I'm gay. And it always bothered me since I first became a fan of Vanessa, that listening to her music was "gay." I didn't want to prove the people who judged me based on my taste in music right by accepting my sexuality. But now I know that even if some of the things I enjoy are stereotypical, there is more to me than that despite what people think. So I was curious how many other male Nessa fans were gay, because it's kinda tough not fitting into society's perceived notion of who a Nessa fan is... i.e. White Chicks... which I am neither.

Lol, we don't know the name of the new single, but some have suspected it's "Hands On Me", "Heroes and Thieves" or something completley new.

I'm so pumped up about this album.

It's not "Put Your Hands On Me" anymore? I just found out about "Heroes and Thieves" and I love it! It turned out my friend was talking about M-A-K-E-L-O-V-E-T-O-M-E and I told him it wasn't her single it was this 7 Aureliuseses. What is that? A singer? A band? I'm glad it's not her single.

WEEEEE! I'm pumped too!!!

Wow, I really like it and you're really good at playing the piano. I remember that file zurielshimon uploaded and I don't remember it being that long, but I'd like the sheet music for that as well if you can make it. :-)

OMG! I'm having a heart attack!!! I swear. My passion for Vanessa still burns, but I've been away from the community and now I hear she has a new single and I don't know what it is and I'm going crazy looking for it. I need it!!! I'm so stupid. New album?!?!! Heroes and Thieves!!! I'm seriously having a breakdown.

oh, awesome!! what sort is it?

I got a Casio Privia PX-310. It's exactly what I wanted and I got it for a good price too. I only paid $550 for it and I'd say it's just as good as any piano in the 1000-2000 price range. It feels and sounds like a real piano and it's got tons of other great features I haven't completely tried out yet.

hey guys, I was thinking of getting a keyboard to mess around with, I use to have one when I was young, I even took classes in high school (and sucked, thus the fact I stopped playing lol)  Any brand recommendations?  Nothing too fancy but I wanna be able to learn vanessa songs on it  :oops:

I'd recommend the Privia because it has everything you'll need if you want to seriously study and can't get an acoustic, and even if you aren't too serious about learning, it's great quality for a pretty low price. Although there are cheaper models out there but from what I've seen the quality is much lower.


Vanessa has a new song called Edward? I really have been out of the loop. EDIT: Oh, I see now. It's a Shannon Thomas song.

Cool! I love Wicked! I went up to NY about 3 weeks ago to see it. It was amazing. Defying Gravity is my favorite song in it and I'm learning it myself on the piano. I'd love to hear your version, but the link isn't working for me.

Oh, God I'm so out of it. I just got a new digital piano! It's amazing. Maybe now I can learn to do better sheet music with it... Anyway, am I supposed to post the songs I've already done here?

i think it sounds like a song from the animated movie Anastasia. lol.

I thought the exact same thing, the first time I heard it . Not the lyrics thought, only the music.

OMG, I'm surprised how many of you think that! That's one of my favorite movies at the moment and I know exactly what you mean. It has a slight resemblance to "Once Upon a December." I really like it and it's so great to hear a new song from her.

"All is Well" makes me think of the "Corpse Bride", just felt like sharing, never saw the movie though....hmm....

That's another one of my favorite movies right now. I can see why you would say that. The animation is really beautiful, you should see it.

Actually, that version I posted of "All I Ask" is not the way I play it. I've arranged a version of it myself, I've just never gotten around to transcribing it. I'm hoping to get a digital piano soon. If I do get one, it might make it easier for me to make sheet music from.

Also, I don't have a live version of Pretty Baby. I've always wanted to play that song, but I don't really like the version in the book, and I can't figure it out from the CD. If anyone can send me one, I might be able to figure it out.
