Many people don't know that, as much as I like to ignore the fact, I do understand a lot of Basque (I thought I didn't but I was proved wrong when watching TV & ppl speaking in Basque) and could speak some if I tried, only I don't like it and never practise it (Basque is a regional language here, totally different from Spanish)
Oh yeah, I can kinda do accents too. Its really hilarious but if I am around people with an accent, I will start picking up their accent. You people shoulda heard me in Brazil from speaking English with the Brazilians, I had this like English as a second language accent that I couldn't get rid of. Hilarious.
Yeah! when you speak english to a foreign person for a long period of time you start talking in the accent that they talk to you in English with, it happened with my italian exchange partner, and then you realise you're doing it and you feel like such a knob!
lol yes. I pick up accents all the time too! Once I was spending a month in England and there were these two other Spanish girls who were from Madrid, I remember phoning my dad and him asking me who the hell had I been listening to speaking Spanish cos I sounded so Madrid!
Also, when I came back on holidays to Spain while I lived in England, I spoke Spanish but used English grammar! It sounded really weird lol
