On having my apartment 'violated'
« on: June 30, 2004, 01:36:05 pm »
I have a big thing about privacy. It's a BIG thing with me because I never had it growing up. It got to the point where I'd hide my most sacred things at friend's houses, in my locker, or even bury them in the backyard. But then again I grew up in a very twisted demented family, so drastic everything was neccesary.
I'm nuts when it comes to my property. In my own apartment, I'd still be terrified that someone was going to just walk in.  Everytime I heard footsteps my heart would stop. I was also afraid someone was going to try and make me go back home. But that's a whole other matter.
I'm moving to my new place TOMORROW! I'm very excited about that, because the people who live around me now are very very scary. I'm only moving across the street, but the other tenants can't possibly be as bad. They can't be worse at least. Plus this new place has good security.
But I digress.
My Current place thinks I'm moving out next month. But they're already sending people in to show my place. ALL the time. EVERY day. I feel very violated. I can't even be in my own home.
THen today I get back from class, and I see that my curtains are torn down, my closet doors are all flung open. How RUDE!
I just felt soooo upset. I have no recourse cuz it's all in the name of 'showing the apartment'.
I'll be starting to move out tomorrow, and since I have a whole month left I don't have to rush, but I have a feeling i will be rushing! What jerks!

My Dad looks through my room to see if he can find pot or cigarettes.

Little does he know that I am MUCH smarter than he thinks. ;)

I always made booby traps to protect my space.  I don't anymore.  People don't really invade my space without a real reason.  I usely tell my landlord they can go in anytime they want.  It is funny how that usely keeps them from going into my place alot, because I have nothing to hide at all.  If people started to invade my space and doing stuff I would probably set up booby traps and they would regret it.....lol...really they would.

As far as the drapes I would attach them in a way that would allow the door to be opened but the drapes would be in the way, drooping down.  That would make the point quickly.
