Welcome to the eleventh weekly Radio & Records national airplay chart report for 2003... and the first report on Nessaholics.com! This chart reflects the music week ended Friday, March 21, 2003.
INTRODUCTION:
This is the first week that this report is being featured on the Nessaholics.com forum instead of the official Vanessa Carlton forum. It will be posted here on a pilot basis, and if there is sufficient readership and interest to support it, I will make it a regular feature.
As with the original weekly report, the scope will be limited to Adult Contemporary (AC), Hot AC, and CHR/Pop. Special attention will be given to charted songs by Vanessa Carlton, as well as on "Big Yellow Taxi" by Counting Crows featuring her. In addition, highlights of each format will also be provided.
"A Thousand Miles" is still going strong on AC, and continues to be high on the recurrents list on Hot AC. Both "Ordinary Day" and "Pretty Baby" are not being charted anywhere. "Big Yellow Taxi" enters the top 10 on Hot AC and is slowly inching up the CHR/Pop chart.

"A THOUSAND MILES" UPDATE:
On AC, the song remains at #6 with 1982 plays (2005 plays last week), and is the song that has been on the survey longer than any other. The song first entered the AC Chart on April 26, 2002 at #30, then took a one week hiatus, and re-entered the chart on May 10, 2002 all the way up at #23. In all, it spent 9 non-consecutive weeks at #1, and finished at #12 on the 2002 year-end survey. 11 months after first appearing on the AC Chart, the song is still in the top 10. Can she make a full year? With your support she can. All we need to do is to have an increase in airplay--even if it's just for a week--then the downgrading to recurrent status will be further postponed. If you listen to AC, please call your station and request it more.
On Hot AC, the song is in the list of "Most Played Recurrents" at 1370 plays (1425 plays last week).
On CHR/Pop, there is no activity to report.
"BIG YELLOW TAXI" UPDATE:
On AC, there is no activity to report.
On Hot AC, the song rises 3 notches to #9, at 2155 plays (#12 with 1996 plays last week).
On CHR/Pop, the song rises 2 notches to #44, at 1140 plays (#46 with 854 plays last week).
