I saw it for the first time last week. It's disturbing...
..but not as disturbing as the movie I saw last night: "Monster." 8O
"Monster" is one of the most fantastic films I have ever seen! I did my English talk on "Why I Admire Aileen Wuornos" (you can run now
).. I didn't have a main based reason but there were some personal things why I kinda admired her in some respects. After my talk, the class was stunned! All in all, "Monster" has to be my favourite movie of all time and
did make me sob my heart out, which I rarely, or not at all, ever do!
Back on topic! "Thirteen" was a fantastic movie in my opinion. Okay, we could say that "13 year old girls wouldn't do that kind of thing" but to be honest, I think the reason they made it thirteen is because thirteen is the first age which has the word "teen" as the ending. Maybe not, though. However, this would show you many of the evens and pressures which could occur when you hit your teenage years.
Evan Rachel Wood played an excellent part, and her acting was spectacular, as was that of Holly Hunter and Nikki Reed.
In my overall opinion, I thought "Thirteen" was created wonderfully and found the film enjoyable all the way through, although disturbing. I thought the camera-shots were good, too!
