Mohegan Sun (review)
« on: July 01, 2007, 08:29:35 pm »
1  Ordinary Day (Divide and Conquer) Great as always.  She did wear that stupid hat for this song.

2  Hands on Me  this is the song her mother doesn't enjoy the name of, but she does sometimes.

3  The one  She says sometimes your not meant to be with your one.  She seemed very emotional with this one.  Stevie Nicks wants to sing on this track.

4  Heroes and Thieves

5  Fools like me  She says don't date rock stars

6  Nolita Fairytale  dedicates this song to Irv and Stevie

7  Home

8  ATM  this is when most of the people showed up and she got a loud ovation.

Great show.  I had about ten people ask me who this chick is, but they seemed to like her so that was good.  I was pleased that she played 8 songs concidering Stevie Nicks only played 13.

excuse that last post :-)

the show was amazing! "hands on me" is one of my favorite songs and it was amazing live.  vanessa announced that stevie nicks asked to sing back-up on "the one" on the record, so that of course will be incredible.  before "fools like me", vanessa said "don't date rock stars- stevie knew that, but i didn't!!" or something to that effect... also, vanessa sang back-up to the first song of stevie's encore.  vanessa said at the end of her set that it was her favorite show so far, and she got heavy, heavy applause at the end of "a thousand miles".
i saw vanessa perform back in the day with third eye blind and the goo goo dolls, and it's absolutely incredible how much she seems to have matured musically.. all in all, i was really impressed with her performance and i think she won over a lot of stevie fans as well. :-)

ps, stevie nicks is AMAZING live, it was one of the best shows i've ever seen! i totally recommend trying to catch the tour if you can.

Wonder what she meant when she said "don't date rock stars".
It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.

it isn't that tough to figure out... for one, there's the whole cliche about rockstars; 2, she just dated one; 3, they just broke up; 4, he hooked up with a ton of girls all the time on tour. so.. yeah.
