I think it's a lot better. I love about half of the songs from BNN and Harmonium, and I'm loving most of the H&T songs.

Also H&T has a new sound, something we didn't hear from her before, and I love it.

The title fits the album great, it has like this knights, dragons and princesses feeling.

In my opinion, Be Not Nobody is still the best album of all 3.
Heroes & Thieves is, as a whole, better than Harmonium. But there are stand out songs on Harmonium that are amazing (I'm assuming this will happen to songs on H&T the more I listen to it)

I love HEROES AND THIEVES. Harmonium is very close but i just didn't like Be Not Nobody as much as the new ones. She's surely improved her vocals :)

Harmonium is still #1 for me. ALthough i like the songs from heroes and thieves i prefer to listen to the live versions instead. I was expecting a big orchestra. I think that some of the instruments/sounds sort of ruin the songs, but then again this is my first time listening to the album and i just need to give it time.

Heroes & Thieves beats Hamronium for me because I love every song! Spring Street, Hands On Me, Home, More than This are all extraordinary! Every song hitshome and there are no misses! It is definitely a concept album and it is really cohesive. It does play out like a story but more importantly it's just great music. Like, when an artist digs deep and is totally honest with their music they can produce an album that is just incredible and I feel like with Heroes & Thieves that's what V did! i just want everyone to hear how great these songs are!
and if you don't believe me... just Put Your Hands On Me

I'm going to have to give it time. I'm still a little overwhelmed by the whole thing... I have this weird feeling about the production of the album. Is it just me, or do the strings sound fake? I don't know, they're probably real, knowing V... or it sounds like it's just 10 strings, not a full orchestra, which I really miss and really liked about Harmonium and BnN... I really love these songs though! I'm going to have to give it more time before I decide if it's better than Harmonium or not.

They're real, lol. :P

I contacted the person who stands in front of the orchestra and tells them what to do with the stick (God, that sounds really bad) and he was telling me what it was like working with Vanessa and what the sound of the album was like, etc.

that person with the stick is the conductor lol
(i'm in orchestra)

but yeah i don't like the production either.
it's gonna take some time to get used to,
but i still like the songs since i fell in love with
the live performances first.

it seems like heroes and theives took a lot of focus off the piano......like in bnn and harmonium every song's (or most anyways) focus was the piano in some of the songs on h&T i was like wheres the piano

for me in Harmonium and Be Not Nobody the piano was the most important but it was just there I think in Heroes and Thieves, the Piano kinda guides the way the other insturments are shown and presented for the rest of the song.

Current takes me out, what will be, will be. Floating on the sea, stars are watching me.

Yep.

Loved Harmonium, but I didn't think it was some huge musical genius move. It was good, but it had major faults. Liked a lot of those songs and loved quite a few, but I could listen to Heroes & Thieves over and over again. Love almost every song.

Now here's a reeeally long post (and in-depth, I hope). :)

In all honesty, I'd have to say that Harmonium is absolutely V's best work yet. EVERY song seems to be so emotion-filled and true (not to imply that her other work isn't). But aside from the darkness of Harmonium, it really is more captivating and has the ability to run chills up your spine.

H&T on the other hand is a different type of amazing. It's definitely a type of summery album. I kinda think that the album should have been released earlier this year, if all work was completed at that time. It's not the type of album I want to listen when it's really chilly and dark outside. (So I tend to categorize my music by season... call me crazy   ) Nevertheless, the songs are INCREDIBLE, and to be fair, it can't be compared to "Harmonium." They're both great albums (major understatement). But the styles are kinda diverse and you can't fairly compare them. They're simply two incredible albums independently, and feature music of the HIGHEST quality.

"Be Not Nobody" on the other hand is distinguishingly different from the following two. Good for a debut album, but like many of you, I prefer her later work. It is however, a good album to show growth and how Vanessa's developed as an artist. It's exceptional work, although I don't find myself listening to it as much.

Haha, I do this too. I have artists that I prefer release their CD's in the Spring, the Fall, etc. Vanessa is all Autumn to me. I actually get upset when they release them "out of season."

I get a Fall vibe from this though. Not as hardcore as Harmonium though.

Harmonium was the best for me... HAT is alright.... it is different than her normal things... I like harm more because it was mostly her and the piano, and this is more based on her voice... it is not bad.. but different bnn i pretty good... so i am not sure I guess HAT is tied with BNN
Peace
