A few songs I've written...
« on: December 28, 2007, 12:38:40 am »
Verse 1:
It's gettin' too dark, too dark to see
And I'm still stuck in this reality
Too late to be found
Am I too late to be saved?
I'm crying out for help
I'm willing to be changed

(chorus)
God, please take my hand.
I know you'll understand.
'Cause you know that I'm afraid
even when I don't know what to say.

Verse 2:
Even when I'm wrong
I know you'll walk along
'Cause I don't know how to figure things out
When I'm without,
without your love.

Bridge:
I'm down on my knees
Can you hear my pleas?
Can you hear me cry?
Do you wonder why?

(repeat chorus)

Verse 3:
I can never ever forget
that I can always be at rest
because you'll always hold my hand.
You're the one with me 'til the end.

(repeat bridge + chorus)

Tell me what y'all think...criticism is accepted as long as your nice about it!

Without Me
« Reply #1 on: December 28, 2007, 12:53:45 am »
Another song by me! :D

Verse 1:
You've messed me up
So I'm gone now
I'm packing my bags
and taking my last bow.

Verse 2:
You need to figure it out
'cause now you're without me
I waited patiently
'til that reality kicked in
but it never did and now
you're wandering blindly

(chorus)
Without me, I know you can't breathe
Without me, you're wandering blindly
Without me,you're lost in this reality
Without you, I'm better off honestly

Verse 3:
The path you took
It's not even in a fairytale book
I trusted you, but you never gave me the truth
now all I'm looking for isn't with you
And you're left drowning in your solitude

(repeat chorus)

those are really nice. do you have the melody in your head? or are they just lyrics. I write my lyrics with the melody in my mind. and, unless i can get a band and a studio, that's where they're staying for now.

Wow, I really like those. They're really great.
You know, it never matters how much skill you have on the piano to make up songs, because even my 8 year old sister made up a song (a little repetitive, but really great, actually).
So maybe you could write some piano arrangements to go with your songs. They're really nice.
That's what she said.

Well, I have an idea of what i want it to sound like...
But i haven't actually started to work it out on the piano yet...
I'm not that good at making up melodies though.
So, I think I'm gonna ask a friend of mine who has been playing the piano and guitar since he was a little kid to sorta lead me. :D

Thanks for the comments y'all! :D :D :D

MY NEWEST SONG! :D
« Reply #5 on: February 03, 2008, 10:06:19 am »
Its inspired by HALF A WEEK BEFORE THE WINTER! :D

End Of Time

[Verse 1]
Half a week before the end of time
He sat down and told her
they would never be together
and so she began to cry

[Chorus]
The end of time brings everyone to tears
No one can believe it
They've spent so many years

[Verse 2]
She cried and she wished he loved her
half as much as she loved him
but she knew that wasn't possible
something so wonderful could never happen

[Bridge 1]
So she begins to sing
sing for new beginnings, but...

[repeat chorus 2x]

[Verse 3]
So time is coming to an end,
and no one ever believed it could happen
Never believing what was said
They never believed what was said.

[Bridge 2]
So they begin to sing,
sing for happy endings
and....

[chorus again]

I really like that song, I can just imagine the music for it...to my taste, but I don't know if it would be anything you imagined. I like your strong but simple direction to lyrics. Great work!!
That's what she said.

Yeah, definately not what I was thinking, but it's great work, and just because I have a crazy imagination for lyrics that I haven't made, doesn't mean I'm right about anything, lol.
I am better to writing lyrics that I didn't make, because it makes me a little more detatched from them, and easier to focus on the music rather than how I want the lyrics to be done. I would love to write songs with my cousin, who is 16, because she has the most amazing way with words, and being a music-writer myself, I would love to put our talents together.
That's what she said.

Well, as for me whenever I wanna make a song I always find the melody first, then the lyrics. Finding the melody is a one thing, writing the lyrics is another...somewhat harder tho..I'm not that good writer as you are.. :)

Since I'm not a horribly good writer, I prefer to make the music first, now.

This is a new song i wrote like 5 minutes ago!
Comment Plz! :D

Friends of foes are still her foes
and now there's left one question:
How did they know?

Blinded by the eery light she sees,
her soul sails through life
fluttering impatiently

Burdened by this mistake,
she can never forget,
until she can no longer wake.

So she sings a song
that brings along
the peace of mind she hoped for.

It's nothing new
this is something we're all used to
But now its time to go.

*this is dedicated to someone I know named Vanessa... *
