1. Rilo Kiley - Under the Blacklight
Even though this album has received much rejection from their old fans, I really think they've set out to do, and accomplished something amazing. This is pop music done brilliantly, and they deserve much praise for it.
2. Bjork - Volta
It's one of the most eclectic, yet forgettable albums ever. And that's what makes it good. Every time I listen to it, it's new all over again.
3. Vanessa Carlton - Heroes and Thieves
She really did something different with this one.
4. M.I.A. - Kala
Great follow up to a great debut. Near perfection.
5. Bright Eyes - Cassadaga
They went in a much newer direction, and one that gives a lot of promise for their future. He's already an established artist, but this makes me want more and more.
6. Feist - The Reminder
So good in so many ways. It's by far much more personal than her last album, as well. It really helps the audience get to know her. And the simplicity is overwhelming.
7. Tegan and Sara - The Con
It's just really, really good.
8. Maria Taylor - Lynn Teeter Flower
It's really shown her growth as an artist and musician and vocalist.
9. Alicia Keys - As I Am
She's done loads with this thing. And really evolved. Good for her.
10. Amy Winehouse - Back to Black
I know this didn't come out this year, but it's been everywhere, so it at least deserves a mention. IMMACULACY. And if it were last year, this would DEFINITELY be my #1.
