I'm trying to convince my mom to take me to Wilmington, NC in April for the concert. I'll try to bring something to record with me that will record in good quality so we can get the lyrics and a better version.

God, this is great news!

oh pleeeeease do!

it's amazing news. i'm about to rip the mp3 anyway so i/others can start trying to transcribe.

and the lyrics, which are at least 1/2 of my vc experiences, always - well, i can only figure out a little bit of the beginning:

"waste away the days
waiting on [???]
it's time to try [???]
but i get older with morning"

something like that. i think the chorus begins with "i've never been so sure" and ends with "never gone". ... as clear as the piano is, the lyrics are really hard to hear.

Yes I hear: Waste the days away
waiting on a new age
Its time to try (new things?)
but I get older one more year
(an unwinding dream?) OR (a london winding dream?) Or (a london minded dream?)

this took a very long time  8O
but...

this is going to fail so hard and be funny later, but sure, i'll try it.
I think I've got at least some of it right, while I know some of it is probably wrong.

-----------------------------------------

Wait the days away
Waiting on a new rage
With time to try it
But I get older without you

But London's pleasant dream
A moment I'm getting old
But the word's all secret
They're only hollow bones now
Only hollow bones now

And I've never been so sure
That I can only hear the last burn
And I know that we've returned
Never gone, never gone

God I still aim for this high life
But I started, burned the feeling
And I know that they will never stay the same
If we can only burn the light
Wish we could never fight

And I've never been so sure
But I can only hear the last burn
And I know that we've returned
Never gone, never gone
Let go, oh

You're the first one loved
Wrap around your feelings
But I won't ever feel you

And she never even tried
No, she never even tried

And I can only hear the last burn
And I know that we've returned
Never let go
But I can only hear the last burn
And I know that we've returned
Never gone, no

Wait away the days
Waiting on a new rage

wow. what incredible effort, i must applaud. i think i still subscribe  to it being "waste the days away/waiting on a new age" however. as for other comments, i must first pull the song out and hear it against your version of the lyrics. :]

taking this from my post in the other thread:

I'm feeling good about this! London lyrics!
-----------------------------------

I waste away the days
Waiting on a new age
But time betrays me
And I get older one more year

Walk London's windy streets
He waits for me at home
But I wonder the secrets
That only cobble stones hold
Only the cobble stones know

And I've never been so sure
That after all these years, all that I've learned
Is that heavenly creatures never come
They never come

Got a knife-throwing kind of love
But your silence cuts the deepest
And I know I've made a mess of things
And I'm sorry for all that
Wish we could get the time back

'Cause I've never been so sure
That after all these years, all that I've learned
Is that heavenly creatures never come
Wait for it
Wait for it

Earth will turn when we're gone
So we pray that Heaven waits on us
But the wolves howl to the Moon
And she never answers back
No, she never answers back

But after all these years, all that I've learned
Is that heavenly creatures never -- never been so sure
That after all these years, all that I've learned
Is that heavenly creatures never come, oh

I waste the days away
Waiting on a new age

Thank you a lot for the lyrics !! I really appreciate them. To me that song really is an "Afterglow" 2, very different don't get me wrong but I feel the same thing listening to it, it's just a song I could be playing and singing all day. Vanessa is a genius.

angels... God..
or perhaps it's just the idea of "someone who is perfect" or 'right' or 'does no wrong'
