Yeah, Harmonium got messed around a lot. H&T did a little I think? but they stuck to the date once it was confirmed. This is why i'm confused this time, it seemed so definite and they'd been pushing the 21st all along. I know nothing is ever concrete but it just seemed different for once, and I can't pretend i'm not a little disheartened. Even if they are planning promo, as well as the tour, surely it would work better for people to be intrigued or hear about a record they can buy instead of one that's not out yet, keep contistent slow-burning sales throughout the summer.
This is the age where songs are released on itunes they day they premiere on radio, because people want instant gratification and access to the music. How many non nessaholics will be pencilling the date change into their diaries? Nowadays it's "I hear it, I like it, I buy it" and if not some people move on. Maybe they're planning a second single in July? I'm sure they have their reasons/stragey though but who knows.*shrug*
