I also just think it's a non-issue because she has been through so much the past couple years -- sickness (of whatever sort), writers block, relationship failure, changing labels yet again, and turning 30. If she's made it through all that and is still made a record and still is performing (in whatever capacity) then why not have faith that she will continue? She has already written more stuff and she has always said she wants to do movie scores. We haven't seen the last of her regardless of the success we think she is or is not having with this album.
