This song is absolutely beautiful. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it - the moment she started singing - definitely got me even more pumped for ROTR.

One thing though - I've been listening to it on repeat for the past couple of days and, as much as I love it, I can't picture it being something most people would want to listen to. By most people, I mean non-NESSAholics. Most of us love it, well, because it's typical Vanessa and we love V, but I just can't picture it playing on the radio. Thoughts?

I find the opposite.  I think it would be a perfect radio single out of all the songs we have heard.  It's more upbeat and has kind of a girl-power message in it that is going around a lot lately (girl power in that she doesn't have to give up her name/identiy/get married in order to have a soul mate/long term significant other).  In today's world of hollywood hookups and divorces, marriage has become less and less of a sacred union it once was thought to be, and with gay rights issues, it's the perfect message that I think V would want to send - we don't need to get married to show our love, and until EVERYONE has the right to marry, why do it?  I heard this song shortly after I got married, and was like...why did I get married?? LOL I didn't NEED to get married.   ;) Just funny how she always makes me think and ponder life!

I agree. It is one of her most relating song and the melody is just beautiful. How can't it be a single?

We wrote, we wrote a legacy. Just you and me.
Just like kings under lavender skies, skies we will live.

ok so here I go again  picking on you people who put a lot of time into thinking about what the lyrics say and what you hear...I don't hear "wrote" and to me, it doesn't really make much sense to be past tense.  I hear the word "grow"   and only once,
"we grow your legacy" (actually I can't decide if I hear "your" or "our")  just a thought!

I think in the Sunset Sessions she sings "and spend this life with you" instead of "share this life with you"

Same here. I think that the lines of the coda are MAGIC. I love them so much.

This is such an amazing song. Every time I watch the video on her website and the choir starts singing and you can hear her in the background I get goosebumps! CANNOT wait for the finished product of this song.

I think you know what I am talking about!
This line makes me thing about my past realtionship
It ended like 2 months ago.
I am still in love!  :'( We were together for like 3 years and a half.
It makes me think that maybe in the future, if we cross paths again and if it was meant to be, We'll live like kings under lavander skies

I guess I need to stop listening to this song because its so addicting!

I was just thinking about 'more than this' and I feel this weird connection with this song!

Yep. Definitely has the More Than This vibe to it. The songs just speak of living your life beyond the boundaries set by others.

In the studio
version there are slight lyrical changes.

To start, there is clapping thought the song. Like when she played at that show in tenessee and clapped at the beginning, that is now throughout the song.

She sings "gonna get drunk" instead of "i wanna get drunk"
And "I wanna be your girl" instead of "I could be your girl"
