I love the preview! Although, I think the sound is a little strange. I don't know whether it's my computer, but there is a tin-can kind of sound when I listen to the preview, as if she recorded it in a makeshift studio that doesn't quite have everything sealed up from outside noise. It's sounds kind of like a perfected live version. I guess because she recorded on analogue?

I just think it's Vanessa using both her high & low register. I definitely hear Ari in the preview too.

I like that she's experimenting with her vocals on this album. She's typically just been a straight singer, so this is nice to hear. She's adilibing more & playing around with her voice.

Oh ok. I really like the harmonies though. You could barely hear any harmonies on Heroes & Thieves the album, but this one, they are all over the place.

Her lower register sounds really awesome. She's improved a ton.

I hear the 'strange' sound as well, which I was alluding to in some of my other posts, I just didn't know how to describe it..  it might be the analogue.  I think it will take some getting used to, but I still think it sounds beautiful.  I think it also helps give the dreamy quality, which someone else had mentioned -- which was what Vanessa said she was going for.  As a whole, and considering everything, I think it's perfect.

Vanessa is really the only artist I go nuts about. I love the fact that she doesn't give a shit about sales & hits and just makes the music she wants to make. My friend who knows a guy who works for Irv said that Irv tried getting her to do more commercial stuff (promotion, I mean) and she was like "um, nah. I'm good" lol. To put it simply, she wants to make music & tour. I respect her so much because she never compromises her artistry. It's like "do it my way or hit the high way".

I really hope Razor & Tie realise how lucky they are to have her.
