In some ways I'm kind of bummed that I've heard 90% of the record already, but I think that having the songs studio-recorded will feel like having new songs.

For me, I like going and listening through the album in order to get the full story behind it. So it'll be interesting to see how this one unfolds.

here's some new-ish random info.

I got an email from the website NoiseTrade today.
"To prepare for the October 2015 release of her new album, Liberman, Vanessa Carlton is offering this EP with a new song and and cuts from Rabbits on the Run. The single, “Young Heart” is a snapshot of a vibrant artist at the peak of her craft, and a preview of the cohesive, 10-song dream-of-an-album to come. Enjoy!"

"In October 2015 Vanessa will release her next album Liberman. The cohesive, 10-song dream of an album is a snapshot of a vibrant artist at her peak of her craft. In advance, Vanessa wanted to give music fans a taste of what the album will sound like with the new song “Young Heart” as well as offer fans a glimpse at where she’s been recently with four cuts from her prior album Rabbits on the Run. Enjoy!"

the free EP they're offering features:
1 Young Heart
2 The Marching Line
3 Dear California
4 Hear The Bells
5 Fairweather Friend

.....that's it! you can download Young Heart for free without feeling bad now...
also, the album is set for OCTOBER apparently.

well at least we know the album will still be 10 songs. i'm sure we'll get a song or two off the album before then too.

So do you think we'll get a single in August/September before the album's release?
Check out my newest piano instrumentals, "Willows" and "Blue Pool"!

I LOVE IT! torture never felt so good haha.

"i didnt say but i was sad to see you go
you went back to the ghost
i went back to what i know"

she tweeted that a while ago! and she was calling the song "do it"
so "do it" became "nothing where something used to be"!

one more piece to our puzzle!

excellent detective work.

if the lyrics remain the same, we now have this part of the lyrics down:

"I will admit that you're the closest I've come
There's just something about you that I trust
I didn't say but I was sad to see you go
You went back to the ghost
I went back to what I know"

i'm loving this snippet and listened to a bunch of times!  beautiful. I am so ready for October.  I also feel it's mystical like the fall and especially October are for me.  even though it's been delayed, I think a fall release is fitting for the vibe of the album.

does this mean the album will include live acoustic version of the songs like rabbits on the run??? that would be amazing!

and i totally agree with you, @sarab an autumn release will totally fit the vibe!

ps. sorry that the screenshot is so big; i was too lazy to crop it.

a stripped down version of unlock the lock, willows, take it easy, and 7 swords would be lovely.

Can you guys believe the album will (/is supposed to) be out in 4 months? Wow it's been so long and suddenly it feels so close. Can't can't wait. The fall is my favorite time of the year and as some of you already pointed out it very well fits the new record. When do you guys think we can expect a first single? Also do you think we'll get a physical version of the album? Seriously I wouldn't stand it if it doesn't get a physical release aka a proper release.

That's not even a question! OF COURSE, there's gonna be a physical release!! Given how Vanessa likes physical stuff (hello ROTR vinyls!), there's definitely gonna be a CD (or maybe even another vinyl!) of Liberman.

In my case, no physical release = no buy. It's as simple as that.
