i was about to post this!

C you still have power?

Explaination::  I had power most of the time . . .it was on and off at points but nothing major.  We we're told to shut everything down.  To use minimal power.  I posted this then shut down the computer, air conditioning, blah blah blah . . .

so they had no electricity in the 1960's eh? lmfao!!!!

Well, yeah, they had no electricity on July 13, 1977, and November 9, 1965, as a matter of fact.

I was stuck in NYC for 9/11...now this! The lights just dimmed and then nothing, except for the vcr's and monitors (I work for a major television network). It completely sucked, the whole building was warm and dark, we could all see about as good as Stevie Wonder.
The bright side is that I got back home to Jersey. I also got a bonus and a day off for helping out the network by building and rolling backup commercial reels.
The down side is that I'm all sweaty and feel like a pair of sweaty donkey balls.

Dude! That is so unfair! YOu got a bonus and time off for doing your JOB?!? I got a customer support call at 1:30 AM last night.  Did I get a bonus for that?

nooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Ah well.  I guess I'm glad I was in NYC last week instead of this weak.  I'm slightly clausterphobic and being stuck in the subway would have freaked me out something fierce.

Our power went out ... I seriously thought the house was on the blink. First, the lights start fading in and out, then I go back up to the computer, and the monitor isn't working (strange, don't know how it was still running though--I pressed ctrl-alt-del and could hear it restarting...but still no screen) and then the phone rang (It was my bro-in-law) and I answered and only heard myself... then I tried callng back and the phone was dead. Then my dad gets home, and he's saying none of the street lights were working... then my mom comes home and tell us that she saw the oil refinery's burning really badly (come to find out that was a safety precaution when the power goes out)...

Still life was pretty freaky for some time there... Glad I got power back!

Poor Conan, they had no power, and they relied on flashlights and such to tape the begining of his show, and then they went to a re run....but it was really funny if you watched it...

You probably have a battery backup on your computer, but the monitor wasn't plugged into it. If your powerstrip is big and heavy, you can be pretty sure it is a UPS (uninterruptable power supply, a.k.a. a battery backup)

My power just came on...

It was off for 22 hours.

But it was the weirdest thing...I was in the car on the war to my soccer game and all the lights just went out and stuff. So I tried the cell and it didn't work, and neither did any of my friends. So the bus driver wouldnt take us to soccer, so we were stuck at our school until the traffic and everything was better...but it was so weird, being stranded at school with nothing. It still took me and hour to get home, when it would have only usually taken me 15 min. There were 9 accidents on my way home.

Now I'm just glad the power's back.
