I recently received e-mails of a virus going around called W32/Sobig.f@MM. It has attachments with the file extensions .pif. I downloaded Stinger from the McAfee site to check my computer for it. Here's the link: http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

Luckily it didn't get into my registry.

Last week this virus thing took my password (I have no idea how) and sent out 300 emails from my account to people I don't know and my AOL account was banned. Never open anything from InstaKiss.

OMG!! thats not a virus thats aol!! It happens all the time!! when that happens and they ban your account call AOL and they'll give you a new password because they have virus'!!! But they won't tell you...you need to tell them and then they'll be like Ohh sorry. It happens to us all the time here.

I don't know what my computer has (I am on my laptop) all of a sudden my computer just started sending emails, my Norton at one time was scanning and sending 72 emails. I am sorry if you got one. I have no idea what it was sending but it was sending something, I didn't do it, I swear. Now my shit is dead. Sorry for the s word but I hate not having my pc!! To top it off my roomate has been trying to fix it for 5 hours now.  :x

I got at least eight of those in my yahoo account... I scanned them with Norton and each came up with that stupid virus name... Friggen people with no lives... I deleted them all...

yeah so my PC now works but I lost EVERYTHING!! Every picture, song, email, EVERYTHING!! Let is not happy.

Does anyone know any secrets on how to get anything back or am I just screwed. I already cried.

you have a PM Let :)

If you wanna remove the Stinger just find the Stinger.exe file on your computer and delete it. It doesn't get installed in your start menu. I'd suggest you keep it until the worm danger is over. That's what I'm doing. :)

I've found that even after I have deleted and emptyed the recycle bin sometimes things can still be on there...I don't know if it works with all computers...try going to the start menu and then "Find" and "Find Files or Folders" I was able to recover some stuff that way...
