I'm really excited for the new season!  Sasha Cohen looks fabulous, even if she is skating to Swan Lake, and Jenny Kirk has improved sooo much!  I'm not surprised Michelle Kwan still hasn't gone pro, she won't quit until she gets Olympic Gold, and who can blame her?  The new scoring system is in place after that scanals in the pairs judging at the Olympics.  I think it's good but rather confusing, it will take a while to get used to it.  Am I the only skating fan here?

Ooh yes! I adore skating, i have a friend who was nearly a proffesional ice dancer so she gave me her skates and occasionally she comes to teach me. Ahhh i love it, i remember when i was ill i literally watched skating all day.

The only downfall is that really its a bit of a cheap take off of ballet, and thats my first love- i adore it anyway!

I really like it! I used to watch all the competitions I could catch on TV and stuff but it's not a very popular sport here so they don't show most of them and I'm pretty lost. When I was in England one of my classmates was Bulgarian and she took part in loads of junior competitions back in the day, I think she even got to #10 in the world ranking!

I'm probably the only guy here on the board that absolutely LOVES figure skating.  You should see me on rollerskates.....I'm a fearless idiot.  I figured out how to do axles by watching some video of someone on ice skates quite a while back.  You fall alot.  I have an old injury on my right ankle because I'm a fearless idiot on skates.

Jessie- Sasha Cohen skated beautifully today, she won!

Tricia, i'm loving the new sig!  Amok amok amok!

I like skating. I even went to the last U.S Championship here at Staples Center to see Michelle win it in person.
I don't really like Sasha. She bumped into Michelle during warmups and I didn't think that was very nice. Besides she's like the new Debbie Thomas, she always chokes when the pressure is on. I like Sarah Hughes.

Yeah, Sasha Cohen looks and acts like a right little bitch!! lol

And as for skating, its really hard for me! The thing is, in piroettes in ballet its aaaall about the legs but in skating its aaaall about the arms! It confuses the hell out of me! And i always stand up too straight because of ballet when i should be lower. arhhh!

well Scott retired from professional performing for the most part, he will show up in an extra special tv showcase now and then though.  And Kristy just had a baby a few months ago!  When I was in 3rd or 4th grade my mom took jessie and i to see Stars on Ice and got to see all the great skaters--Scott Hamilton, Rosalind Sumner, Liz Manley, Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov (a year before he passed away!  So sad!), and Debbie Thomas- I still remember it!

haha thats why I love sasha...shes so blatantly competitive..its a nice change from all the pretentious, insincere, try to be perky types. :D

yeah...and I dance...but you can't pay me to get on the ice. I think you're right about the posture thing...too straight up is probably screwing me over. but even though I can't figure skate myself a few of my good friends do...and I can pretty much distinguish all the jumps and turns. I'm such an Olympics junkie...I get soo into everything.
