okay, like Keeping Up Appearances, Nikki and I are probably the only losers that know about this but.....

there is a kick ass movie out there called Newsies. it was made in 1991 (92 ?) and was made by Disney. It didn't do too well, but has managed to gain a cult-following.

If you don't like musicals, then you probably won't like this movie, but you should see it anyway! It features Christian Bale *sighs* and Gabriel Daemon *sighs again* and that guy from Doogie Howser....i forget his name

if you want to learn more about Newsies, go here: http://www.newsies-realm.com/home.html

it's one of my favorite movies of all time. go see it now! go! go! go!

haha i know what you mean. My english teacher decided it would be fun to have us read "Heart of Darkness," and then watch "Apocolypse Now" and have us write a comparison essay on it. Woo Hoo!

And whoop whoop for Katia liking it! this makes two other people that know it.....i no longer feel like such a loser

we have Newsies parties at school (and with my friends at home too) where we get together and act out the movie and sing the songs (like Carrying the Banner and King of NY--my favorites!).  My 2 friends and i senior year choreographed this whole dance to King of NY for out talent show opening act.  it was hot.

And if you weren't quite sure how much of a nerd I am, there's your proof.  I'll go back to writing my annotated bibliography on Brazilian National Identity now.  **hides**

I actually liked the movie but it's been years since I've seen it.

Wow, were we born under the same sign or something, Steph?  I'm a Leo.

These are my men.  Feel free to jump in when someone on my list also appears on yours:

-Christian Bale (how about his body in American Psycho?  *feels moist again*)

-Jude Law (mmmm)

-Ralph Fiennes (wow, too much ass in The End of the Affair, but he can screw me against a wall out in the desert any day)

-Jeremy Northam (he'll always be my Mr. Knightly)

-Colin Firth (Mr. Darcy diving into the pond, natch)

-Rupert Everett (damn fine King of the Fairies)

I feel like I'm forgetting someone.

Hmmm.

As for American actors...

I gotta give props to Paul Newman for being such a piece of ass when he was younger.  Not a bad looking 80 year-old either.  Cat on a Hot Tin Roof makes me squirm!  "Shut the door!"  He can have me whenever he wants (he doesn't live too far away either! :bday:)

Yeah, so, the pattern here is:  has accent + can act

mmm, i'm all about Christian Bale!  Carrying The Banner is my favorite number.  Why?  Two words..... pelvic.  thrusts.  Oh yeah.....

Ring of Fire was an awful movie but I was more into the eye candy than the dragon.  there will be no better dragon movie that Dragon Heart.
