basicly what i think is... uniforms shouldn't be manditory... you should be able to wear what you want (within reason) and be able to express yourself.
See, to me, herin lies the problem. Being able to express yourself has absolutely nothing to do with going to school. infact, being able to express yourself, in many way is the key distractor for most students. I mean... take one look at Daniel's argument and you'll see how much thought on a daily basis he goes thorugh about it.
The goal of a school should be to educate, and if a school can attempt to redirect your focus away from the latest fashions and concerns about if Mary looks better than Sue, then just maybe you have a little more focus to put into the actual teaching going on.
And as for uniforms not being able to be implemented into public schools on a grand scale. It is possible. It was done her ein my countty just this year. Kids simply had to start wearing blue oxford shirts and khakis. And this started MID school year. There simply just aren't options given sometimes. A Government school receives the full protection of the government... they pretty much have the ability to do whatever they want.
