what do you all think of this?

i'm really not sure... they have never had any solid proof against him in any of the law suits before... so this may be the same. It is very easy for these kids and their family to make something up just to get money and publicity, but it would probably also be very easy for MJ do something her and his people to hide it. so who knows? i guess we'll have to see!

he was arrested today!

you know whats crazy? i know his attorney! my family has known his for like a year now. i see him like every other day unless he's out of town. not like he'd tell me anything thats going on anyways... lol, but its weird!!!  8O

What is the difference between Michael Jackson and a grocery bag?

One is white, made of plastic, and is dangerous to have around children. The other holds grocerys.

What's the difference between Michael Jackson and Casper?

One is white, and goes around playing with little children.  The other is a ghost.

It's all a variation of the same joke.

Why was Michael Jackson spotted at K-Mart?

He heard boys' pants were half-off.

Whatever. That man is as guilty as sin. Last time the child mysterously didn't 'testify' because he was paid a great deal of money.

Did you see that programme there? Michael Bashir did a programme where he interviewed him about how much he 'loves children' and sleeps in the same bed as them at night. Ugh, puhlease.

Sure he's a weirdo but that's not evidence in itself. Until there is some proper evidence I'm not entertaining the allegation. I'm not saying he's innocent but the inevitable 'Trial by media' (juried by a vigilante, ignorant, uninformed public) makes it too easy for people to make false claims.

The fact that the other kid's family settled out of court is a strong indication to me that the claim was false. I don't have kids, but if I did and one of them was abused, there's no way I'd settle out of court even for a trillion dollars. I'd want him in jail.

Newspapers should not be allowed to print anything until a guilty verdict is announced. I can't express how much I loathe the press for this sort of thing (and much more besides).

I think he is just foolish if he is not a pedafile.   I mean I don't mind little kids, but if you are going to sleep in the same bed at least make sure the mother is there.

--On second thought forget the kid.  Just make sure the mother is there. 8)

A agree that the press can get out of hand sometimes. Maybe they should exercise self-restraint. However, forcing them not to print something... is it worth it? A free press is a fundemental part of the democratic system. I don't think we should be mandating that the media do this or that the media do that.

This case is going to be an interesting one. I would assume that Jackson and the kid were alone. It's Jackson's word vs. the kid's. Unless they can actually get physical evidence... which I doubt. If this is true, then the media will be speculating, just like the lawyers.

Grrr... I have to go to school. I'll write more on this later.

how can anyone be stupid enough to say someone is guilty unless there is proof. there is none against micheal jackson!
and yeah... the kids have been paid alot of money as a settlement, but that doesnt mean that micheal is trying to hide something! duh, he just doesnt want the publicity that comes with it! who would? look whats happening now? would you want to go thru that?

yeah... the fact he sleeps with kids is bad, but we dont know that it hurts anyone! its wrong... but maybe its true and the kids want to, micheal is a lil crazy, but i wouldnt call him a criminal yet.

I don't see that not knowing what crimes a pop star is accused of would have any significant effect on a democratic system. It's just another money spinning exploit of Joe public's obsession with celebrities. I agree that a free press is necessary but "out of hand sometimes" is a vast understatement. History shows they are incabable of self restraint.

So, until we find a better solution (i.e. a rocket big enough to fire them all into the sun) I think we should mandate what the media can do in cases like sex offence accusations/charges.

Although, perhaps the blame does not rest entirely on the media. After all they couldn't function without us and the current public attitute towards sex offence is not all that different from the witch burnings of the middle ages.
