I was just looking through Teen Vogue article, in which he discusses the similarity between him and Nessa I copied it up for you guys if you wanna read:
"Ben Jelen wants to be sure to distinguish himself as a singer-songwriter when his album, Give It All Away, come out on Maverick this month. "They want me to be like the male Vanessa Carlton," the 24-year-old says of his handlers. "They need a gimmick for it to make sense to them, so they're like, 'Ben, Piano Boy!' And I'm like, 'But guys I also play guitar and violin.'" He may have worked with producers-du-jour The Matrix and hung out with label Alanis Morisette, but Ben claims his life hasn't that much. And despite having the requiste rocker crush on Winona Ryder, Ben says that he's single and open to finding love. "I really love being close to someone," he says, and then reveals an ulterior motive. "There's always plenty to write about in those situations."
