which song do you think vanessa's voice sounds best on?
i'm too lazy to put in all the poll options (plus i don't think i can have that many choices), so just post and say what you think.
the rules are that you can choose from any song that has been recorded but not live versions of anything. this means that papa, she floats, etc. all all excluded (i know these are personal favorites of a lot of people, but since there are certain enhancements that can be made in a recording, putting live material on the list destroys the integrity). see what i'm saying?
i say either Pretty Baby or Superhero.

Can't you just barely even hear her in that, though?

Yeah, but when you do its good- i think on the demo tape she has a LONG way to go i.e Faces is very skreecy, lol. Like she's trying to live up to how singers sing- i'm glad that need has gone away now! I'm not sure though on the Gap advert whether that is good technique, its heading for skreeciness but still sounds good.

And best vocals in general? I don't know!

i totally agree. i'm not sure if she was trying to sound different or whatever, but yeah, she sounded way too nasal and screechy.

hmm i'm not sure - that's a tough one! I'd like to say Ordinary Day, but i'm not sure.....All I Ask is really well done too....

i think it's really cool how you can see the progression in her voice...you go from the demo tape, when you can really tell that she hasn't had an voice lessons - it's so raw and authentic - and then you go to Rinse where she's more polished but still has an edge to it - and then BNN when she sounds all proffesional.....but then again i'm a dork and find those things cool haha

'Superhero'.  No questions. It isn't live but close. Raw, pure, sweet ; just amazing.

I think her vocals are best in "Little Mary," from the DemoTape!!

Also "Pretty Baby"
