LIFETIME Television Brings 'Every Woman Counts' Campaign to the Democratic National Convention

NEW YORK, July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- With women comprising 60 percent of undecided voters* in what appears to be another closely contested presidential election, Lifetime Television is launching an array of new non-partisan initiatives as part of its public education campaign -- "Our Lifetime Commitment: Every Woman Counts" -- to empower women of all ages and diverse backgrounds to become part of the democratic process as voters and candidates, including special events at both the Democratic and Republican Conventions. Efforts at the Democratic National Convention include:
MONDAY, JULY 26TH
To honor the winners of Lifetime Television's 'Future Frontrunners' essay contest, co-sponsored by Comcast, The Boston Globe and JAM'N 94.5, Lifetime will host an instructional war room designed to encourage young women to participate in the political process held at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Winners are high school junior and senior girls from cities in the Boston area, such as Cambridge, Roxbury and Natick. The Future Frontrunners will later tour the convention floor at the Fleet Center.

Lifetime is co-hosting the Young Women's Leadership Conference '04, which will bring more than 200 young women leaders from all 50 states to participate in a four-day conference at Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts, that will teach them about women in leadership roles and their ability to influence government and society. A similar conference will be held at Barnard College in New York during the Republican National Convention.
