As far as parties go, I am closest to Libertarian. I'll take a Republican over a Democrat and a Democrat over a Green.

what you talking about? democrat is the only way to go.

The major parties are all about restricting your freedom and running your life. Many Republicans seek to destroy your moral freedom. Democrats seem to be bent on destroying your economic and intellectual freedoms.

Why not chose a party that trusts you to run your own life and tells the government they can go fuck off? That's why I'm a Libertarian!

Libertarianism refers to the moral/ethical point of view on freedom etc, whereas Liberalism refers to the political branch of thought.

Not over here. In the United States, Libertarianism refers to the philosophy of the Libertarian party. As this article states at the beginning, you guys have a different definition of the word over there.

Nope, thats not what Liberals believe by default (it seems like they must teach it differently there). There are two main forms of Liberalism which can be identified (though there are loads more): Classical Liberalism- which is what Will refers to as Libertarianism, and Progressive/modern/whatever the hell you want to call it Liberalism which swings more to the left (hence the wealth redistribution and big government)- this is the definition you have of 'Liberals' above.
