I figured out all of All I Ask. If I have time, and if JazzyManda doesn't mind, I can make my own version.
Someone else offered to me to transcribe "All I Ask", and I'm not ...  ???? I forgot what I was saying. :? Anyway, I don't know if they're gonna do it, ...  Now I'm starting to debate whether or not I'm even going to post this. :x   Make sure you follow the bridge that's in the 'Rinse' version.

No, no, I don't have it.  Someone offered to do it for me, but they haven't finished it and I haven't talked to them since Thursday so I don't even know if they've had time to work on it yet.  As soon as I know something, I'll post it here!

Well, I was bored and also really tired of having to scroll through 20+ pages every time I wanted to find a song. So here's an index of the various chord and sheet music versions of songs that have been posted in this thread.

Sorry if I missed your version.. but this should have all the songs posted so far. So hopefully no one has to scroll through 20 pages of posts ever again. XD

whoever posted [and created] the transcribsion for 'AFTERGLOW' [and for 'WHITE HOUSES'], do you think you could resize the sheet music, b/c i printed it out yesterday, wasting money and 4 sheets of paper, b/c it's much to big for the paper used to print it out. i reduced the size, but got the same results, unfortunately.

Use Firefox and Print Preview to resize it before you print it out. 8)

Copy and paste it into Microsoft Word and resize it there.  Worked for me.

I have my own versions converted to PDF. I would've posted nice-looking & easy-to-print PDF files but didn't know how to post them. I guess I could use rapidshare.de to post them? Who wants a PDF version?

MIDI is a computer language that describes a musical performance. It basically says, turn on this note at time x, release it at time y, play this note with velocity v, hold down the sustain pedal from a to b, etc etc etc. This information was originally just transfered over the MIDI ports on the back of synths (the ugly DIN jacks). A MIDI file is simply all these little pieces of information saved in a file. So, you can record a file that tells another synthesizer how to recreate what you just played.

i've listened to 'Where the Streets Have No Name', and the piano riffs give me chills, b/c it's kinda haunting [and beautiful], in a way. doesn't it remind anyone of the piano music of the theme opening song on the first few seasons of 'BAYWATCH'?

well, anyway, does anyone [calling all gifted sheet music transcribers] have the ability to transcribe it to sheet music? it's much to fast to be like the original verision. Van made it her own. i really want to get a feel for it on the piano.

If I could transpose it I would be so happy. I'll probably take a shot at WTSHNN sooner or later. I think what makes it so hard is that there is an echo or maybe more than one melody playing at the same time, or something, I don't know. I'll investigate though.

well, since you mentioned it, the piano does have a 2-part harmony. and an echo of the piano. it's like her second voice. i didn't really realize that before. but i'm pretty sure if you [or whoever else transcribes the song] will put your own intepretation on it. if you don't know what key it's in, then it's in D Major. maybe she was watching BAYWATCH one day and decided to emulate it, b/c i sounds a lot like it's theme song. either that, or it's just a big coincidence.

as for the 2-part harmony thing, i think that it was amazing that she did that, b/c no other artist has done that with the piano before, not that i know of. cool, huh? i could kiss Van's bf for some of the things he did to make Harmonium a great album. Ron Fair, too.

i decided to send you this now, b/c i probably won't be here for the next couple of days.
