[discussion]

I guess someone made my reply into a review thread... but anyways...

I got to hear almost half of the concert tonight, thanks for calling me Emily! I wrote in my LJ about it too. But wow I was surprised you kept me on for the rest of the show, lol. I got to hear "She Floats" "Winter" "Rinse" "A Thousand Miles" & "Twilight" I think that was it, I could be missing one but yeah the set list still sounds awesome.

I remember Vanessa saying something after she did ATM about she was supposed to come back on for Twilight but she just went right into it or something, it was hard to hear her talking tho.

Oh & I remember her mentioning something about sharks before she played Winter but I don't remember what she said.

I got to hear the concert while waiting in line to vote, that was fun.  :)

How many songs would you say she performed? I have to know the scoop for tomorrow!

Great show.  Not as inspired as Philly, but still good.  Actually, her voice began a little raspy, then I guess it warmed up and there it was again, just superb singing by VC. Most of the Philly crowd was there, with the addition of Dave and Toni.
Many of the seats were reserved by industry types, a good number of which didn't even show....so we stole their "reserved" seats. No surprises in the setlist, but I did recall that she mentioned something like "warm-up for a tour", so that is cool.
Before "Half a week", I believe she mentioned unicorns and sharks.
My only disappointment had nothing to do with the show; it's that I didn't get a chance to give Nessa the Nessaholic CD.  I gave it to Mark(a sort of tour mgr.) as the bus doors were closing.  I can only hope it's not being used to prop up a crooked table leg.
I know she appreciates her fans, and I know she will appreciate the effort.  Someday I may get the opportunity to ask her about it.

Everyone that hasn't seen her recently will be pleased with the shows.
Get psyched!

Vanessa was awesome but the venue sucked. Okay, it's a good place to eat and have a drink but not for a concert. If I want to eat, I'd go to a restaurant. 'Nuff said.

I think Vanessa was a bit disappointed by the crowd response - must be the reason she didn't do an encore and just played Twilight right after A Thousand Miles.

During Winter, she said that her two obsessions are vampires and sharks but that no one wants to hear a song about sharks. Then she continued that one day she'll write a song about sharks and that we would all love it, lol.

BTW, did anyone see John Mayer there?? 8O He was somewhere in the back - bar area. Saw him come in before the Low Millions started playing and he was still there after they were done. I lost sight of him once Vanessa's set started. I wonder if he stayed to watch her.

I also bought a camera but since no one was taking pictures, I felt shy about taking out my camera to take a picture. And I had a good view too, damn!

I agree the crowd was 'stuffy'. I wanted to sing and scream and dance and give a standing o but I didn't want to embarass V (or myself). The venue could be really kewl with the right crowd, meaning MORE NESSAHOLICS! I get jealous when she sings San Francisco but now that she has a place in NY maybe she'll write a song about NY.

I wish I had a ticket to tonight's show.

It was great seeing everyone.

I'm really glad she played it at mine, I wanted to hear it soooo bad!
Even though I almost cried. But you didn't hear me admit that.
