In this battle, a third of the angels joined Satan and fought against God. According to Joseph Smith, one half of the remaining spirits fought bravely for God. They were later born white. Those who didn't fight as bravely were born as black.

Right.  They also taught/teach that being black is the Mark of Cain and being of the seed of Cain, blacks are unclean.

And regarding the fact that this is HISTORICAL teaching, the Mormon church has REFUSED to overturn these revelations.  They insist they are from a prophet and therefore who are they to declare them false and apologize?  Unless another prophet comes along and overturns them... which has happened in other practices like polygamy.

They choose to IGNORE them, however.

In practice the DEVOUT Mormon's I have met (of which I can only name 2) are very very very good people.  Truly kind and amazing individuals.  Their religion is insane, but this doesn't reflect on them as people.

However, the AVERAGE mormon I HAVE MET (and I've met about 10 in person, so take that as you will) is a dirty redneck bigot who uses his religion as a convenient weapon to attack people he doesn't like.  And this means women and minorities specificially.  They take the parts of their religion they find covenient and ignore the parts they don't.

Maybe.  I generally avoid all organized religions.  But my experiences with bad catholics and bad christians isn't that they use their RELIGION as their excuse for being bad people.  They are just bad people.

Also, most of the caholitcs who use the bible to persecute (especially gays) aren't doing it based on the last known ruling from their church.  They are doing it based on their own poor interpretations of scripture.

The mormons who do it are doing it because their church at one time TOLD THEM that blacks and women weren't equals.

So, I guess I can sum it up with "i hate all bigots."  So if a GROUP specifically condones bigotry then I hate all members of that GROUP.

In this case, the Mormon church gives a shield that condones Bigotry.  Therefore, I hate Mormons.  I also hate the KKK.  I'm not partial.  It doesn't have to be a religious group.  If someone started a group tommorow that said "men are evil" I'd hate that group too.

yeah... i know mormons of both kind too. I know 2 people who are totally accepting of all people, but just refuse to drink and do drugs. this other guy also doesnt drink or do drugs, but he also looks down on people who are of any race other than white, women, homosexuals, etc. from my expirience, he treats women like an object and tried to get his friend to use me. but... you find people of this sort in any religion.
