Okay so this is my first time posting...I have been lurking for a while and I am finally!! posting.

Anywho, I'm Carly the one who asked Vanessa this question and I was actually asking it about Ordinary Day. It went like this...
Me: "Hi Vanessa. Ordinary Day is my favorite song and I was wondering why you changed the lyrics when you sing it live"
Vanessa: "Those are the original lyrics. They made me change them. Some people like the original and some people like the ones on the album so I try to switch it up a bit and sometimes sing one or the other at concerts."
Me: "That really sucks they made you change the lyrics. I like both of them."
Vanessa: "Thanks." Smile!

I am assuming by "they" she meant her label but she didn't specify. So, sorry, I'm a newbie and didn't know why the lyrics were changed which is why I asked. I have no idea if this same reason is why the lyrics for Private Radio or C'est La Vie were changed or not.

And to Jessica, (jlmusicchick), Nikki (dancernl) and Gina, thanks so much for the idea of asking Mark for us to meet Vanessa! It was awesome!!

And I just made a site with a bunch of photos I took from various concerts. Please go see it, the pics turned out pretty good!! http://www.geocities.com/nessacarltonfan/

Here's a preview:

Thanks!
~Carly

about CLV, they were the newest live lyrics that she's been singing. I believe emmy, or someone else, asked her why she was singing new lyrics, and she said that she likes to switch things up, and that her managment made her change the lyrics for the cd. she said that she had no control over it - she had to.
um, that doesn't make sense?

Say you say me is the way it is on Harmonium -- she only changed it to the "I'm at your feet for always and forever more" in SF last year (that was the first known time).  Was Vanessa asked about CLV or perhaps ordinary day?  Because ordinary day was changed because of the label and she has started performing it the original way while touring...

actually i think she was talking about Private Radio, lol.  We only caught a snippet of that she was saying, Carly was the one who asked her.
so she was commenting that she changed the lyrics to private radio for touring because the label wanted her to or she changed them to the version that is on the CD for the label?

need answers! ;)

ok, what she meant was that the way she's singing it on tour is the way she originally wanted it.  But label pressures etc made her do what is on Harmonium.

what she said.

i worded it weird, sorry. mmm yeah. stop talking....now.

Oh, please don't feel bad! I hope I didn't make you feel that way! I should have posted what I talked to V about earlier...and I am so quiet that it was probably hard for you to hear what I was saying. So, no worries! Thanks for the comments on the pics Jessica and Gina! It was great to meet you too!

That's why we  Mark long time
