So, there's this football game I want to watch (first GSU football game @ Northeastern)... but the problem is that the game is only going to be broadcast live up in the Northeast part of the country.  However, we were lucky enough to find a website that will have streaming video live of the game.

1) What do I need to do to find out if my computer is capatible for this kind of service?  (Remember, dumb this down)

2) What kind of cord do I need to connect my computer to a television screen so that the image is larger?

3) Where can I get this? (Radio Shack?  Walmart? etc.)

4) How much would this cost?

5) What kind of prolems can I expect?

You need a TV out on your video card unless your TV has a data input which i really doubt.  Your best bet is to find someone with, or rent a projector, and that would be all you need

If it is an internet stream, it will most likely look like shit.

Most laptops have RCA or S-video outputs. If you don't have a TV out on your vid card and don't wanna plunk down the money for a VGA->S-video/RCA composite/RCA component converter, see if you can find someone with a laptop with the outputs you want.

So imagine if it does have an S-video card, I would just need to buy the S-video cord?

You'll have a round jack that kinda looks like a keyboard/mouse connector, but it has four pins in a isosceles trapezoid arrangement, with a big wide pin at the base of the trapezoid. It is also possible that the jack will have pins in the middle of the trapezoid. Both are the same thing. With the latter, the extra pins just aren't used.

You know, I had a whole thread about this before.  n00b.

You need a new video card. EVen then the picture will suck unless you get an HD TV with DVI or VGA in or a vGA/Component converter.

So get a new video card with line outs.

Even then the picture will suck, by virtue of the fact that it's an internet stream.
