you will not be disapointed if you buy pretty much any of her albums - however i love "out of range" also her self titled one "ani difranco" is really good too for an intro to ani.....

Stay away from new stuff!  Little Plastic Castles is her best.  Up up uP up up is good.  Anything older than LPC is sold.  Out of Range is very good.

The only Ani song I have listened to is "You had time" - from the film "Lost and Delirious" - LOVE IT!

I have downloaded some of her songs(I heard You Had Time on Lost and Delirios), of the songs I've heard of her my favorite is 32 Flavors.

I'm the only guy I know that really likes her.  She and Vanessa are my two favorite artists.   <3

Finally saw her live last night.
It was pretty school. She played alot of the anti-capitalism stuff Andrew mentioned, but she played some old stuff too. I wish she had played 32 Flavors, and Untouchable face. That would have made my night.

Ugh... she never plays her good songs anymore and keeps playing all her crappy new stuff.

I would go nuts for some Napoleon, Both Hands, Swan Dive, Little plastic castles, Jukebox, GRAVEL!... ANYTHING that rocks!  I refuse to support her little political tirades...

 Ani is a folk artist, her "little political tirades" and social commentaries are what defines her as an artist.  But, it's cool that people can appreciate her apolitical songs on their own merit even if they dislike her social and political commentaries in her lyrics.  I guess that just goes to show how good she is.
