some people on the board talked about may.

That's a bit ambitious.

I miss the days when the Beatles would put 14 songs on every album.  Of course, they were only about three minutes long then also.

Yep!  They would also come out every 6 months or less 8O !

how long after an album is done does it get released?
if its done before she leaves to Austraila, how much longer would it take to release it?

She probably finished that song up for me. I told her she had to get crackin' on that one for sure.

Once she submits a finished master to the record company, I don't see why it would take more than a couple of weeks, provided the artwork is done, etc.  However, labels like to time releases so that they don't compete with others from either their label or competitors.  Artists hope to have the album out when they tour, for obvious reasons.

The short version of your answer: next to no time, but there are so many factors that affect an album's release.  There is no science to it, unfortunately.

Welcome :D

Wow, five songs, that's great :D
I doubt there'll be more than 10/11 tracks, but we can always hope. I'm willing to trade in some waiting time for a longer album :)

Ok, I know I probably sound like a bad Vanessa fan, but I didn't know she was working with Linda Perry for the new album!  I'm so excited.  Linda Perry did M!SSUNDAZTOOD with P!nk and stripped with Christina Aguilera which are 2 of my favorite albums.

I don't like stripped.  And I can't finish this post because we have general guidelines about language. :?

Christina lost me after the first album, too, but, even without liking all of the songs she has produced, I can recognize the quality of the production.

THAT is why I'm pretty happy about Linda/VC.

Linda Perry also produced some song off of "Back To Bedlam" a.k.a. James Blunt's album. She also helped him get a record deal. So hi's album is amazing and her producing skills are amazing too. So I think this will be the album from Vanessa.
