Hair Tips
« on: August 30, 2006, 06:04:42 am »
Since we can't seem to stop talking about hair tips in the Recent Pictures thread, I figured I would start them their own thread :-P

I think my biggest tip would be to ask around to find a good salon when wanting to get your hair cut. I really don't think anything can be worse than a wrong haircut that makes you look like Keith Partridge (which actually happened to me at the age of 8, causing complete strangers to call me "little boy" haha). But, even if you have to spend a little extra, getting someone who knows how to cut hair, especially if they're specialized in the kind of hair you have, can make all the difference.

My favorite Hair product right now is that Dove shampoo and conditioner it leaves my hair so soft.

Cutting my hair short was the best thing I ever did for my hair.
I saw the movie Domino and thought Keira Knightley's hairstyle looked hot so I got it cut the same. It's low-maintenance, which suits me because I hate using hair products. I only use a tiny bit of soft wax for texture. I don't like using hairspray, mousse, or gel, it makes my hair feel yucky.

How long is your hair now Shannon? I'm sure it looks great

It's still really long, but I cut a few inches off.  I was starting to look like a hippie.  Now it's about to the middle of my back & there's lots more layers in it.   :)   It's so nice to change things up!

jessica's curly hair tips:

i like biolage smootherapie shampoo, and neutrogena professional daily deep  conditioner...

i've discovered that its not good to comb curly hair when i get out of the shower... cos then it doesnt dry in thick ringlet pieces, its more wavy messy strands.... sooo, what i do, is part it and comb it in the shower while i'm conditioning, so that when i get out of the shower, all i have to do is squeeze out the water from my hair, and it naturally separates itself into thick chunks of wavyness. then i put in paul mitchell conditioning sculpting foam and plop it all on top of my head with a loose elastic band until its halfway dry, then let it down.

wow it doesnt really take that long, but that paragraph sure makes it seem like it does haha
