That's not true. At least not on the copy of "Hotel Paper" that I got. Besides, the songs Michelle did with Santana still go with her other songs ... Santana isn't a freakin' RAPPER!! Michelle even went "country" and still somehow stayed true to her style. This just isn't the same.

It is on mine, but I guess it must be another edition then. Sorry. I just figured that artists sometimes put the songs they collaborated on, on their own album, but since I can't think of another example, I must be wrong. I'm just happy it isn't on Vanessa's album

just my personal opinion but I don't really like the song. Far from my style, but whatever... it's not dreadful, parts of it are okay I suppose, but if I heard it more than a few times I think I'd be annoyed with the spelling out of makelovetome

this is SO different from what V usually is like. and yes i also wonder what the mtv will be like!!!

but well, ultimately its for V to decide what she wants to sing and what she wants to experiment with. although personally i still prefer the more heroes and theives style, i am all for her experimenting, and so be it if it means doing R&B....after all shes still developing, so i guess this is all in the way of experimentation.

had a hard time believing it was really her though! 8O

Hmm, I don't think it was that different. Probably a little less produced since, maybe, the song wasn't completely done yet.
But the song is basically the same.

Well, he did mention Nelly Furtado and Gwen Stefani and said the song should be released as a single (not a Vanessa single though but 7 Aurelius). If I remember correctly, he said this had nothing to do with her album but it's something on the side to make people talk about her again so she can launch her album and people will basically be like "oh but it's Vanessa Carlton!".
Hopefully I didn't make things up cause I don't remember everything from the conversation but it's pretty much it.
