Haha! Old schoooool. I'm going to see Nerea in Spain on Thursday- ahh we really did make some amazing friends from this place. I can't believe I'm 20 now and this all started when I was 14!

yeah, I will be in the same boat come January...crazy.

20 is the best age evar- this is going to be my best decade yet! Ahh well not for you, you still can't drink! Unfortunate Limey.

When I met her mum (who knew who I was because she used to read the message boards!!), it was SO obvious who she was! You kind of forget what an amazing piano player she must be herself.

Even the clearer version is still slightly scratchy- i think it must be just the way it's filmed (a lot of Marc Klasfield's videos seem to have a similar kind of look). I REALLY want to see her face when she's dancing in the red dress though- it's getting really annoying!! I want to see her face when she sings 'i hope you feel just like i feel' 'cause she looks so funny!

that's a good question... i dunno if she would really be using a different name to attempt to hide from "us" though... us booting her shows is really the least of her worries (in my opinion).  I think about it this way...

She has a guaranteed sale of her album with all of us, if not multiple copies.

She has a guaranteed promotion by word of mouth from all of us.

There is really no "harm" in us hearing the new material.. the audio recordings generally out there are not super great and multiple versions of the same song just interest us even more.  Look at Kulp and his multiple versions of Nolita Fairytale fun

If i had to guess the reason she shys away from bootlegs is she seems to be a perfectionist and doesn't want audio recordings out there that are less than perfect for general consumption... I also think if she was going to perform under another name she would use one other than her sisters... clearly it didn't take long for us to be chattering about her potential performance

Maybe Gwen really is getting into something and/or perhaps Vanessa was just playing piano with Gwen?

Even on the other albums she always kept a few songs for the album and didn't perform them live.  We also don't know if it was new material or just the same songs we've already heard... just lots of speculation.

All of this is SO true. There is no truly logical reason why Vanessa would play under Gwen's name. Kaysha, I think you're right in saying that bootlegs are the last thing on her mind!

We have already established that Gwen and Vanessa look very similar, and so it's hardly surprising that Gwen might have a similar voice to Vanessa.

It's also quite probable that Vanessa has helped Gwen to play in the places she used to- i.e the Bitter End.

My guess is that it's fairly straightforward0 Gwen Carlton is actually playing in the Bitter End.

Those YouTube stats are actually pretty spectacular when you think of how many millions of videos there are on there!! What is 'success' these days any way though? It's hard to even know. In the UK, the charts are decided by downloads which would work much more in Vanessa's favour.

Marc Klasfield has directed some absolutely brilliant videos!! He has a very definite style.

I like this video because we see Vanessa at her happiest. I have never seen her smile so much in a video. That means she is as happy as she is now and is ready add more songs to her "hit" list.

So true! I absolutely love this video! Mainly because I never thought I'd see another Vanessa Carlton video again, but also because it just makes you feel SO happy! She is so smiley and the fairytale theme works so well.

Something tells me she's in love with Irv Gotti...
